This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are using WordPress 6.7.1 with the Woodmart 8.0.6 theme and WPML plugins, trying to translate content from Serbian to English. You've encountered issues where translations are lost, and pages revert to the original Serbian content. During translation, a warning appears indicating that edits made in the standard WordPress editor may be lost if later opened in the WPML Translation Editor.
Solution:
First, ensure that you are using the WPML Translation Editor as your primary tool for translations to avoid losing any work. If you need to use the standard WordPress editor, look for the "Translate Independently" button on the translated page. This option is detailed in our documentation here: Translating Your Contents. Additionally, we tested making changes to both the Serbian and English pages and confirmed that editing the Serbian page did not overwrite the English translations. If your issue persists, please follow these steps to help us replicate the problem:
1. List the exact steps you take when the issue occurs.
2. Include any specific settings or conditions under which the translations are lost.

If this solution does not apply to your situation, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket or visit our support forum at WPML Support Forum.

Background of the issue:
I am using WordPress 6.7.1 with the Woodmart 8.0.6 theme and WPML plugins. I am trying to translate content from Serbian to English on my site hidden link. I have encountered issues where translations are lost, and pages revert to the original Serbian content.

Symptoms:
During translation, a warning appears: 'You are about to edit your translation using the standard WordPress editor but your site is configured to use the WPML Translation Editor. Any edits you do here will be lost if you later open it in the WPML Translation Editor.'

Also a bug information appeared on the top of the page:

Questions:
Why are my translations disappearing and reverting to the original Serbian content?
How can I prevent losing translation work when using WPML?
What steps should I take to resolve the warning about editing translations with the standard WordPress editor?

Thanks for contacting us. The "standard WordPress editor" is the manual translation. Could you check the translated page and see if you're able to see the "Translate Independently" button as explained here https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/#duplicating-content

Thank you Kor for your kind response!
I have read the article you suggested for several times and most of its content was in a way clear to me by logic.
I had to translate the pages independently (and to avoid automatic translation because of the client's suggestion) and I used a "Overwrite with a Serbian content" option, when preparing the English language page.

I have tried to understand and follow the suggestions. from the article but I still can not see "translate independently" button?
Plese, see the attached screenshot?
Is there something that is not set properly in the general settings?

Thank you in advance, kind regards from Serbia,
Daniel

Thanks for your reply. I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

Thanks for your reply. I've tested this by making changes to the Serbian page and then the English page. Then, editing the Serbian page did not overwrite the translations on the English language page. Here is a screen recording for our reference hidden link

Could you list the steps to replicate the issue?
