This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client manually translated English menus into traditional Chinese and is seeking guidance on how to proceed with WP Menu Sync, especially for menus that are not fully translated or have content available only in certain languages. The client also encountered issues with deleting menus and synchronizing them across different languages.

Solution:
1. We recommended initiating a complete backup before attempting to synchronize the menus.
2. We provided a video tutorial (https://screenpal.com/watch/c0XYbKVGHbV) to help the client navigate the translated menus and confirm their translation status.
3. We advised the client to manually delete the "Footer Resources" menu for each language as shown in the video.
4. For untranslated navigation items, we suggested using the manual translation method as outlined in our documentation (https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-menus/#option-2-translating-menus-manually).
5. We confirmed that the client should include the language prefix (e.g., /zh-hans/) in custom links for proper menu translation.
6. We addressed a known issue with menu deletion and provided a link to the errata page (https://wpml.org/errata/wpml-4-6-7-backend-navigation-menu-layout-issue-with-wordpress-6-4/) for further assistance.

Hi Kor,

Thanks for your help and reassurance.

That said, I managed to delete my BMC Menu in Traditional Chinese. I noticed that my Single-Pole BMC and Double-Pole BMC Menu had been duplicated. I went into
hidden link
and deleted the duplicate. The entire menu disappeared. Is there a way to bring it back?
Can I go into backup and restore an earlier version of the site. Or is there a simple way to restore that menu?

Please advise,

Jason

Thanks for your reply.

Sorry, there is no undo button. You'll have to restore it from your server backup or recreate the menu.

Hi Kor,

I went to Appearrance=>Menu
hidden link

I selected the BMC Menu and then clicked on Traditional Chinese+.
Instead of creating a Chinese Traditional Menu, It moved the English BMC Menu to The Traditional Chinese Menu Page. See Attached snapshots of the English Menu page and Traditional Chinese page.

How do I move the English BMC Menu back?
After moving the English BMC Menu back, How do I copy the English BMC menu to the Traditional Chinese Menu?

Thanks for your help,

Jason

Thanks for your patience. I've reconnected the navigation menu "BMCEN" for you.

Hi Kor

When I navigate to:
hidden link

and select Traditional Chinese from the language selector, I see that the BMC Menu got move here. I also see the BMCEN that you created but I don't see a menu.

Please advise,

Jason

Thanks for your reply.

I've checked and you're using custom menus. You'll need to re-create the menus in EN language. Could you give it a try?

Ok, but I am confused by the BMC box on the top right which is overlapped by Traditional Chinese, which is then overlapped by BMCEN. What does this all mean? Please see the attached snapshot.

Thanks for your patience,

Jason

That is a known issue and we have an errata for this here https://wpml.org/errata/wpml-4-6-7-backend-navigation-menu-layout-issue-with-wordpress-6-4/ . I hope it helps.

Hi Kor,

Thanks for your help with getting all my menu finished. I used the manual method as you suggested. Should I avoid going into WP Menu Sync and using synchronization in the future? Should I always use the manual method?

Or, now that I have the menus set up, can I run synchronization?

Again, thanks for you help.
