This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are experiencing an error 'wpml: Unable to register: Site key not matching' due to a discrepancy between the site URLs on your WPML account page and your sites page.
Solution:
If you're facing this issue, we recommend you follow these steps:
1. Temporarily remove your website from your WPML account sites page. Don't worry, you won't lose any translation credits or the translation memory.
2. Add the website again and ensure to copy the new generated key. When adding it, use the exact same URL format as shown in your WordPress admin under Settings > General (e.g., http or https, www or non-www).
3. Go to Plugins > Add New > Commercial in your WordPress dashboard.
4. Click on 'Unregister WPML' if you see this option.
5. Click on 'Register WPML' and enter the new key you just created.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If needed, please open a new support ticket.

Hello there,

To try to fix this issue, please to do the follow procedure:

- Temporarily remove your website here: (https://wpml.org/account/sites/). You won't lose any translation credits or the translation memory, this is just to force WPML to refresh the license status
- Add the website again and copy the new generated key, when adding it make sure that you use the exact same format as available inside the wp-admin > settings > general, eg.: http or https | www or non-www
- Now go to Plugins -> Add New -> Commercial
- Click on Unregister WPML if you see it there
- Click on Register WPML and enter the new key you just created

Thank you, please let me know how that goes.

OK so delete: hidden link from https://wpml.org/account/sites/

Then register a new site hidden link and then apply the new key in plugins.

Quick question, where are all the translations stored? Are they stored remotely or in the WP database? I am asking this as when I do translations it takes me here: hidden link

Sorry for all the questions as I do not want to lose any translations I have already done.

Many thanks in advance.

Hello there,

Your translations are stored within your site's database. You're redirected to an external address when you're translating using the Advanced Translation Editor(ATE), but as soon as you leave ATE the translation is saved in the site's database.

Recreating the key doesn't affect the translations.

In addition to the translations themselves, you also have the translation memory, please check more about it here.

This process also doesn't affect the translation memory.

Thank you, please let me know if you have more concerns.

Kind regards,
Mateus
