HI !
So after editing some translations the same way I was doing for a very, very long time, editing inside the product category page for each language, I've discovered that everything was copied with the main language, one - English.
So all meta and title SEO were the English ones.

From there I saw that the correct method was to translate from the WPML translation. I have done it for all languages and completed the job for 1 language (French). Purged the cache, and nothing is synced.

But the few categories I translated a few days ago are still translated, so it's a bug from last week, pretty much (I think there was an update for WPML).

Any hints will be welcome to push all translations back to the front end!

Thanks.

Hello,

Global SEO texts need to be translated separately via WPML → String Translation.

Documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/using-wordpress-seo-with-wpml/

Please note that Yoast SEO fields for categories (such as SEO title and meta description) are not translated in the Taxonomy Translation screen, nor when translating products together with their category inside the WPML Translation Editor.

This is because Yoast stores this data in a global option (yoast_seo_term_meta) rather than as standard term fields.

To translate them, please go to WPML → String Translation and search for your category SEO fields (you can filter by the domain yoast-seo).

Best regards,
Andreas

HI Andras,

Everything is translated in all languages, in both Term Meta and string translations.
All jobs are compeleted to 100% and saved. It was the screenshot with French, now all 3 languages are translated and nothing is pushed in front-end.

Thanks

Romain

Hello,

I'd like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the website to investigate the issue further.

You'll find the necessary fields below the comment section if you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide will be private, meaning only you and I will be able to see and access it.

IMPORTANT
Please be sure to create a backup of the website and database before granting us access.

If you don't see the "wp-admin / FTP" fields, your login credentials for the post and website will be set to "PUBLIC." Do NOT publish the information unless you see the required wp-admin / FTP fields.

I may need to install a plugin called "All In One WP Migration" to create a copy of the website on which I can investigate the problem more thoroughly.

I would also be very grateful if you could provide a staging site on your server for this purpose.

If you have any questions about creating such a staging site, please contact your hosting provider. Please ensure that WPML is also registered on this staging site at https://wpml.org/de/account/websites/.

If you are unable to provide such a copy of the website for testing, please let me know on this ticket.

The private reply form looks like this:

Reviewing the jobs for Yoast SEO Term Meta, not all fields were literally translated into the correct language.

The translations were created on the Classic Translation Editor.

The only fix I can recommend is going now to WPML > Translations, open the job for each language, and make sure each field is translated correctly.

I'm checking the "Term Meta," and it's correct. (i checked French) "Yoast SEO - Term Meta translation: Yoast SEO - Term Meta"

My issue is these translations are not pushed to front end

Meta Description

SEO title.

But if I translate again directly in the editor, the translations are staying.

I need to move to ATE translation ? All the translations will be moved from Classic to ATE?

I try to run translation with ATE but it seems it can't retrieve the job (try on production as It seems can't work on stagging)

All MEta Term are translated in the classic editor ; example German

I don't know why I can't post answer;.. 3rd time and no log..

Anyway, I've moved to ATE and yes some fields are missing compared to the legacy translation; there is no way to sync "Yoast Term Meta" translation page with String translation

When the translations will be pushed ? once everything is translated of it's line by line pushed to front-end ?

Thanks

The ATE job size is limited; you can give it a try, but this job might be too big to be completed.

In the Classic Editor in your screenshot, the job process was at 99%. You need to complete it at 100%.

Anyhow, while reviewing one of the jobs, I found various terms that were not translated into the correct target language.

Also, when I check random product categories in a second language, I can actually see translated SEO titles, which means the issue on your site is likely related to incomplete or wrong translations.

If you could name me an URL where I can see the issue, I can offer to take a closer look.

i've completed them to 100% in classic and moved to ATE after and I see that there only 50% of the job is completed

example of URL i didn't touched manually after the bug hidden link

if I go back to classic, it's back to 99% (the missing % is the one I changed to tests)
Putting back to 100% leave this category (previous link) still in English but it's flagged as translated in both String translation and Term Meta.

It seems like we are working on the production site. I am working on the staging.

For example, here, the translation seems to be working, even though the translator did not translate the terms properly:

You really should verify which translation is used on the translation job, compared to WPML String Translation, and then to the frontend.

Example:
Domain: yoast-seo-term-meta
Name: product_cat-13458-wpseo_title

English: Ready to Ship Sex Dolls USA – In Stock Sex Dolls from US Warehouse %%page%%
German: Muñecas listas para enviar EE. UU. – Muñecas en stock desde almacén estadounidense %%page%%

This example was not translated properly into German. I see many such examples.

Note that if you issue with running the translation jobs for Term Meta, you can edit the translations directly at WPML > String Translation inside the domain yoast-seo-term-meta.

If you find an issue, where translations are in fact correct on the backend but wrong on the Frontend, please name me an exact example.

Furthermore, could you please do me a favor and try to reset the Yoast indexes, following this guide?

Yes some translations were flipped between German/Spanish , maybe 20, during the flow

But even, the URL you mentioned earlier is still showing English on the front-end (see screenshot)

I'll do the Yoast Index rester later.

I see this warning on Yoast : Please note that the indexables will not work on a non-production or other staging site. If you have implemented a filter to disable the Yoast indexables, resetting will not work. You must remove the filter.

And it seems I can't complete the last step, it's blocked in the end.
