Problem:
The client was unable to translate images in the PowerPack Hover Cards 2 element on their multilingual site using WPML.
Solution:
We provided two solutions to address the issue:
Solution 1:
1. Navigate to WPML -> Settings -> Custom XML Configuration.
2. Add the following XML configuration code:
<wpml-config><br /> <beaver-builder-widgets><br /> <widget name="pp-hover-cards-2"><br /> <fields-in-item items_of="card_content"><br /> <field>title</field><br /> <field>hover_content</field><br /> <field>hover_card_custom_icon_src</field><br /> </fields-in-item><br /> </widget><br /> </beaver-builder-widgets><br /></wpml-config>
3. Save the change.
4. Translate the pages with the PowerPack Hover Cards 2 element in WPML's Advanced Translation Editor.
5. You will now see the link to the image and be able to translate it by inserting the link to the image in the other language.
6. Complete the translation.
Solution 2:
1. Back up your site.
2. Edit the
/wp-content/plugins/bbpowerpack-2/modules/pp-hover-cards-2/includes/frontend.php
file.
3. Replace the line with the following code:
$card = $settings->card_content[$i];<br /><br />if ( class_exists( 'sitepress' ) ) {<br /> $card->hover_card_custom_icon = apply_filters( 'wpml_object_id', $card->hover_card_custom_icon, 'attachment');<br /> $wpml_translated_card_image = wp_get_attachment_image_src( $card->hover_card_custom_icon, 'large' );<br /> $card->hover_card_custom_icon_src = $wpml_translated_card_image[0];<br />}4. Save the changes.
After implementing either solution, the images translated in WPML -> Media translation should display correctly on the translated pages.
