Hello,

We need your help for the link translation.

We have a company : filtermaker.fr, we already have a multilingual website : filtermaker.fr/de and we use for that translate press. To increase our visibility on our target country we buy domain : filtermaker.de, filtermaker.it etc. and our initial objective was to migrate our filtermaker.fr/de on filtermaker.de ; This is not possible with translate press because the translate string and not page, so we cannot remove the primary language. That’s why use your solution. We migrate filtermaker.fr on filtermaker.de with updraft plus. We remove translate press and we made the automatic translation with your product.

Everything is working fine, but we have 2 problems :

- Internal links are not translated properly. Sometimes on text editor, the links are translated, but everytime on Elementor Button the links are not links to the good language, links are redirect on the promary language (fr). Below an example :

On this link : hidden link you can see on the first paragraph that the « Instagram » link is translated and redirect the user to the good page (DE). Below on the « Instagram » button (at the right of the dancing dog) the button is link to the french page. So the translation is not done. We have more than 400 pages with a lot of internal link eveywhere so we don’t want to do it manually.

Do you have an idea how solve this issue?

We can create a wp access if it’s more easier for you.

- To make all the redirection when everything is ready on our side. We need a CSV file with Column A : FR slug, Column B : DE slug. Do you know where I can export it easly ?

Thanks for your return.

Hi there,

If you used the URLs such as:

/linkoftheurl/

In the Elementor button, WPML can not understand that it is a URL.

But if you use:

hidden link

Then WPML will understand and translate the URL automatically.

If you used the complete URL and the translation is not automatic you can use this method:

- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Settings >Translate Link Targets".
- Click the "Scan now and adjust links" button and wait for the process to finish.

But if you used the relative URL (/linkoftheurl/) you will need to search that on every page in the Advanced Translation Editor and translate it manually:

https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-translate-urls-shortcodes-and-html-attributes-using-the-advanced-translation-editor/

------------

WPML doe snot have an import-export tool for the links, the only import-export feature is available as a PO file in WPML > String Translation > Import/Export box.

Which will export or import the string of the website or a text domain that you choose to a special file with PO extension.

More about PO files:

https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-generate-a-po-file-for-a-plugin-or-a-theme/

I do not think that the feature in question would help on your scenario.

Thanks.
