This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client reported an issue with a large number of Elementor templates displayed incorrectly, showing 71 instead of the actual count. Additionally, there were problems with deleting a language and its associated content, which seemed to be stuck.
Solution:
We recommended the following steps:
1. Ensure a backup of the site is available.
2. Navigate to WPML > Support > troubleshooting and perform the following actions:
- Synchronize posts taxonomies (select 'templates' from the dropdown).
- Clear the cache in WPML.
- Remove ghost entries from the translation tables.
- Set language information.
- Fix terms count.
- Fix post type assignment for translations.
3. Clear the site and browser caches and check the issue again.
4. If the problem persists, check for errors in the browser console and enable WordPress Debug to log any PHP errors. For instructions on enabling WordPress debug, refer to https://wpml.org/documentation/support/debugging-wpml/.
5. If issues continue, manually delete the templates by re-adding the language, navigating to 'Templates' in the specific language, and deleting them in bulk.

If these steps do not resolve the issue or if the solution seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If needed, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Hi,
I did as you recommended (took a whole day the first step) and I don't know what was the case but now I had deleted the huge amount of posts in My Templates of Elementor, and this in steps with only 400, so this was a huge work (took also very long time)!

But now I have it working and back again, only the correct content left. With one exception: I have no 6 missing posts and this just what I see is left of a deleted language, as you can see in the enclosed image.

But the deletion stucks. How I can here proceed? By this the number should be right in My templates and there is nothing left in the system of the deleted Language.

Thanks, kind regards

Hello There,
Thank you for the update.

Glad to hear that all the unwanted contents are now deleted!

Regarding the issue with deleting a language and its contents: The deletion process should remove all content(except for taxonomies as they currently needs to be deleted manually) associated with that particular language. If it seems to be stuck, this could be due to several factors such as conflicts or resource limitations. Would you please take another attempt by clearing the caches from your site and browser?

If the issue persists, please open the browser console and check if there are any errors logged there. If you find any, please save the log in a file by following the instructions outlined in this article(hidden link) and share the log file/its contents in the next response. I will check and let you know what to do next.

You might also consider keeping WordPress Debug enabled, as it can log any PHP errors that occur. If you don't see any errors in the browser console, you can check the WordPress Debug file for any recorded issues. For instructions on how to enable WordPress debug, please refer to this guide: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/debugging-wpml/

If you notice any errors there, please copy and share them in the next response. I will check and advise you on what to do next.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hi!

Thank you for the screenshots. I can see some JS errors in the console that typically occur when there is an issue with the AJAX response being sent by the server. Please do the following and check if that helps in solving the issue.

- Please go to "Settings > Permalinks" from your WordPress Dashboard
- Select the "Postname" structure and save the changes.
- Once done, try to delete the languages again.

But, if the issue persists even after that, a closer inspection will be required to understand the root cause of the issue.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

IMPORTANT
-Please backup site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Looking forward to your response.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit

Hello Eric,
I hope you're doing well. Sorry for the delay in responding due to the weekend.

Thank you for providing the access details. To address the issue on your main site, please follow these steps:

1. In the Italian version of the site, there are currently 6 templates. It appears that a popup during the deletion process of the Elementor template kit might be preventing the process from completing. You will need to delete these templates manually. First, re-add the Italian language from WPML > Languages.

2. Once that's done, navigate to "Templates" and switch to the Italian language.

3. Select all the templates in bulk and choose to delete them. During the deletion of the Elementor kit template, a prompt will appear asking for confirmation. Click on "Delete".

4. Afterwards, go back to "WPML > Languages", clear the contents there, and attempt the deletion operation again.

For your information, Taxonomies like categories, and tags need to be deleted manually as they are different from usual posts.

Please let me know how it goes. I will be happy to help if you need further assistance.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hi,
Thanks, that was the solution, I could delete the most things, but not the standard product category, because this is protected, because one category must be there. But I don't need this in this language Italian. Is here a trick to delete this also?
Thanks, kind regards

Hi Eric,
Thank you for the update.

Glad to hear that the solution works!

WooCommerce includes a default category named 'Uncategorized' that cannot be deleted unless another category is set as the default. If you want, you can search for the taxonomy in the database(specifically in the `wp_terms`, `wp_term_taxonomy`, and `wp_term_relationships` table) and delete it from there. But, please make sure to take a full backup of your site and database before executing any queries in the Database.

However, if you click on the 'cross' icon under the 'Delete content' column, it should delete the contents. But, if you're still having issues, please feel free to let me know. I'll be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit
