Background of the issue:
I am trying to send products from our shop at hidden link for translation using WPML. Yesterday, I successfully sent about 50 products at the time for translation without any issues.

Symptoms:
Today, I cannot send more than 10-15 products at the time for translation. I receive a message saying 'Sending for translation failed. The jobs could not be created.' if I try to send more. This sometimes happens even when I send just 2 or 3 products. Additionally, credits are used without receiving a translation. Not sure how much credits is gone.

It is the exact same problem as ivarV-10 had 2:d of april:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/failed-automatic-translation-job-faulty-migration-request-for-credit-reset-and-preventative-g/.

Questions:
Why am I unable to send more than 12-14 products for translation today?
Why are credits being used without receiving a translation?

If I check the logfile and sort todays translations by permlink I get 214 products that is translated more than once. And the credits used for this double translations is 55256. Assuming that the "number"-column is credits used and not words.

Hello there!

1) Your situation is likely different from the ticket you had described (unless it happened on April 3rd, when we had a few unexpected issues when upgrading our servers) and that doesn't seem the case from what I saw on our end.

2) Most of the time you see pages that can't be sent to translation is because they thrown an error when we're sending them. that happens when you have custom JS or even CSS added in a way that's "incorrect" on said pages or when something else throws an error. Do you recall anything like that on the products that had issues?

3) Would it be possible to enable the debug.log from WordPress and then try to see if you can recreate the problem? that might log an error on the debug.log and tell us what's happening.

4) Lastly, can you tell me the permalink of one or a few more pages that you mentioned were double translated? I tried to search for them but didn't see content like that, yet there were many translations made so it's not impossible to have missed some of them.

Regards,

Maybe my situation is unlike the old ticket, but the symptoms seems the same.

When I was testing again I sent 25 products to the translation without a problem. But when I filtered them to only show "Published" products then this issue came. I captured in the debug.log witch you can see here:

Here are a few lines from the WPML job-log that I mean is double (or even triple) translated:

Looking at the permalinks I gave you there are another question...
The permalink is the product it translates from... right?
So why is some of the products in english (hidden link...) ?
The default language is Swedish.

Hello!

I'm investigating what's going on with the credits usage and the permalink structure.

For now my best guess is that when you sent the jobs to translate, they were sent from the EN version, but when I checked a few of similar pages like that, they were actually from Swedish to English which is correct.

I'll wait on more info from our devs.

Hi there! We're still trying to find out why you got charged multiple times for the same page but I got authorized a partial credit refund because of this.

I have a theory but I'm still verifying it: your site appeared blocked on our end, which means that at one moment the same page tried to be translated and failed. however it seems that after a few attempts, they did get translated yet some previous jobs might've been resent at the same time and that's how you got the pages translated multiple times (they were translated at the same time).

I still haven't been able to Identify if the permalink is incorrect but i have a feeling it has to do with the current language switcher way of working. Would you mind sending me the Code you used for your custom language switcher?

Our switcher (hidden link) is a page with a link to either the Swedish page hidden link or the English hidden link.

Additional there are 2 arguments:
"currency" (SEK or EUR) - this one is a instruction to the plugin "WOOCS - WooCommerce Currency Switcher".
"aelia_customer_country" (country code) - this one is a instruction to the plugin "Aelia Tax Display by Country" so we use the correct VAT.

Ok,

Our devs are looking into the double charging and the URL that appears on some of the usage statement. I'm waiting on them before I can give you any information.

Would it be possible for you to make a copy of the site and send it to us?

because we identified why you had the double charge or sometimes even triple and that means that you likely have an issue on your database. We'd like to have a copy of your site so we can check the database locally, identify where the problem is and let you know how you can have it fixed.

If you want, you can allow me access to the site and I can do it for you 🙂 (I have enabled the fields for it which will be available only in this next reply).

Saludos,

I got a bit confused. You wrote that I should copy the site and send it to you so you can look at it locally. Then you wanted a temp-login and ftp-access... I made a copy (except all images) and put it on a dropbox for you to download.

When I downloaded my site. I found a strange thing that I havn't notised before... There was a folder (dynamic_avia) in the uploads-folder with approximately 10GB(!) / 41.000 files of js-scripts. Only the newest are a part of Site_part1.zip.
Site_part2 is all the js-scrips from that folder (and nothing else).

I will start looking into where they come from and why they are there.

I'm sorry if I wasn't straightforward before my end goal was to get a copy of the site to forward to our devs. You already did, so we're good for now 😀

--------------------

Dynamic_avia is something from Enfold, so I guess their support can probably tell you why you had so much space used on those files, it definitely sounds strange. I checked it and it seems like a sort of cached version of some settings, but I don't know Avia enough to know about this. It seems like they had to delete the old files and replace them with the new one instead of just having them stack up as they did.

it looks like you're not alone based on this, though: hidden link (but this is an old ticket, so they might be aware of this situation).

I'll keep you updated as soon as our devs let me know more about this.

Just let me know as soon as you hear from the dev-team.
I'll be working with the enfold-problem during the wait.

Will do.

I'm changing the status of the ticket so it doesn't get closed.

Hello,

Part of the problem here is that the XLIFF file generated and sent to us has a very weird particularity that usually happens when there are plugins explicitly asking for it or any custom code on the site that could affect this.

Some of the pages end up having no target content at all. Are you aware of custom code on your site or any other issue you've had lately like pages that suddenly went blank or empty?
