Hi there we have an issue with our WPML installation on our multisite hidden link
We have WPML only running on the main site hidden link
Everything is working but on Safari only we have some issues that the URLs are redirecting when the languages are activated. When the languages (WPML) are not activated then the URLs are switching correctly.
Also on hidden link with this issue we are not able to get the login/ register or lost password redirect working. Only when WPML is deactivated then all redirects are working.
So it seems that there is an issue with the latest update of WPML since we did not experience the login issues in our Forum earlier.
As info:
- We do not have the language redirect activated via geo location
- We do translate our links (not using the numbering)
- We have the Ajax cookie deactivated
- There are no other redirections besides from a 404 redirect plugin. But even when this is deactivated we face the same issue
Below videos are both in Safari Browser:
Here is a video with WPML activated (see the URL jump) hidden link
Here is a video with WPML deactivated (no URL jumps) hidden link
Thank you for contacting WPML support, I'd be happy to help you with this issue.
Here is the screen record on my computer when checking your site with Chrome and Safari, I do not see that issue on my end. hidden link
Also, I think your second screen record is made with Chrome because the URL in the Safari browser is in the center of the box. hidden link
I suggest you can try to enable a minimal environment as below and see if it helps:
- deactivate all plugins except WPML and forum plugin wpForo
- switch to a standard theme of WordPress
❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌
You can use this plugin to create the backup: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
thanks for getting back to me.
We still do have the redirect issue in Safari.
Also the login and sign-up still does not work without any special extra code.
Both works when WPML is deactivated.
You might not see the redirect chain because you might have full URLs deactivated in Safari.
It is in advanced -> show full website address.
Yes, the option "Show full website address" is enabled on my end, please check this screenshot hidden link
Please let me know the result after you enable the minimal environment as I suggested. If it persists, it could be a compatibility issue between wpForo and WPML, we will address that by reporting this to the compatibility team.
To be able to report the compatibility issues we need to replicate the issue on a clean installation. I created a clean installation of WordPress, WPML, and all necessary WPML add-ons. You can access the WordPress dashboard using the link below: hidden link
Kindly follow the steps below:
- Install wpForo plugin.
- Try to replicate the issue.
- Then let me know the steps to replicate it.
This will help us to report the probable issue to the compatibility team and solve the possible problem faster.
Hi there, I have uploaded the WP Foro plugins. You can access the site with slug forum.
Currently things are working, but we need to test it in a multisite environment same as we have. Could you please activate multisite as I do not have access to FTP
Then we can test and see what happens and where the issue is.
Currently also on your site I do not have the URL change phenomenon.
I believe this might be related as well.
