This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where WPML loads indefinitely when trying to delete all content from the deactivated 'English' language on their website. Despite deactivating all plugins except Elementor and switching to the default WordPress theme, the content does not disappear, and the loading continues in a loop.
Solution:
We recommend the following steps to resolve the issue:
1. Ensure that no security plugins or cache/optimization plugins are active, as these could block the WPML actions.
2. If the problem persists, disable all other plugins and use the default WordPress theme to see if the issue is related to a specific plugin or theme.
3. Check if the content numbers are decreasing over time; if they are, the process is working but needs more time. If not, there might be a deeper issue.
4. Be aware of a known bug where taxonomies are not removed when deleting content from the database. This needs to be done manually. More information can be found here: WPML Errata on Taxonomies.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, or if the solution seems outdated or irrelevant to your specific case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at WPML Known Issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I've recently redesigned my website for the French language and I'd like to remove the English language from my site because it has a lot of pages with links that have changed. I'd like to remove the English language and redo it based on my new French site.

Symptoms:
When I deactivate the 'English' language and try to delete all the content, WPML loads indefinitely and the content doesn't get deleted.

Questions:
How can I successfully remove the English language content from my site?
Why does WPML load indefinitely when I try to delete the English content?

Hello,

it should work properly, and note that it may take some time if you need a lot of content to be removed. You can check after a few minutes if the numbers have changed.

If not, it could be that some of the plugins might be blocking WPML action, for example, some security plugins or cache / optimization. Please disable them and then try again.

If you still have issue, after backup, you can also try disabling all of the other plugins and using the WP default theme.

Please note also there is a bug with this option and taxonomies are not removed and you need to do it manually:

Hi Drazen,
My last action was to :
- Deactivate all plugins except the Elementor builder with Elementor pro.
- Set the theme wordpress to “twenty twenty”.
- Waited 30 minutes but I still see the window loading in a loop without making my content disappear from my English version.

What more can I do ?

if the numbers are decreasing then it works fine, and needs time.

If the numbers are not decreasing then there is some issue, and I will check.

Please share the access details of your staging website, so I can log in and take a look and debug further.

As I can see this is your production website access.

I would need access to the staging site, not production, to check it safely and also would need real working FTP access, not via the File Manager plugin.

Let me know if that is possible or if not we can take a copy of your site and check it like that further.
