[Resolved] WPML translations is pulling in content from a previous blog post on a similar topic instead of the ...
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to translate a new post, but instead of displaying the English text from this post, the WPML translation interface is showing and translating content from a Category page. Solution: This behavior is expected if the category associated with the post hasn't been translated yet. In WPML's settings, there is an option "Only show taxonomy terms that haven't been translated yet" found under WPML → Settings → Translation Editor. This setting causes the category content to appear in the Translation Editor when translating a page linked to that category. If you prefer not to see this category content, you can uncheck this option in the WPML settings.
If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we recommend opening a new support ticket. Additionally, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate a new post: hidden link but instead of the English text from this post, the interface is displaying and translating content from a Category page hidden link.
Symptoms:
WPML translations is pulling in content from a previous blog post on a similar topic instead of the new content.
Questions:
How can this be happening?
Why is the translation interface displaying content from a Category page instead of the new post?
Sorry, no. There is no change. I added a paragraph and updated. But the irrelevant English text still appears in the translation. Is there some way to reset the translation?
I switched to the classic editor and it is now displaying the correct text to be translated. But I would rather use the new editor, so hopefully you can find the source of the problem.
Thanks

I would try the following (with ATE):
– Try to delete the translation and translate page again.
– Create a new the same page , translate it and check the results.
If the problem persists, I need to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site—preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible—to be of better help. When you log in, you will find the needed fields below the comment area to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.
Not only does this problem persist but it now happens on another page. The common thread here is that there are expression in the new post that are from the road trip category.
The new post text starts further down in the blocks, but the text at the start is again from the Category page.
This same category page also lost its formatting after I did the troubleshooting you suggested.
Could you please update your WPML plugin and add-ons to the latest version, 4.6.12, to benefit from the latest bug fixes and improvements? This may not necessarily resolve your problem; however, we need to work on the newest code to troubleshoot the issue best.
You can check the latest released versions under "My Account -> Downloads" on this site.
If you are unable to see the updates, please click the "Check for updates" button located in the Commercial tab under Plugins → Add New Plugin.

The issue may not be related to the troubleshooting steps but to the new WML translation editor we recently released. Some tiny problems have arisen, and our development team will address them. If possible, please temporarily switch back to the previous Advanced Translation Editor. I have attached a screenshot for reference.
Please remember to backup your database before you proceed. Once the update has been completed, please modify the original page slightly, save it, and navigate to the WPML translation editor.
Can I temporarily switch from the Classic Editor to the Advanced Translation Editor?
If I need to debug the problem further, I want to ask you about the possibility of replicating your site locally. I'll need to install a "Duplicator temporarily" or "All In One Migration" plugin on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content.
I carefully reviewed the issue you reported, and upon closer examination, I found that this behavior is actually anticipated. Let me elaborate.
You can assign a category with a description to a specific page. In the WPML settings, an option is "Only show taxonomy terms that haven't been translated yet" in WPML → Settings → Translation Editor. This setting ensures that your category content will appear in WPML's Translation Editor when you translate the page with the assigned category to it. This only occurs when the category has not been translated during that specific translation. This happens in your case, too.
So, it is Okay if you translate the content of those categories in WPML's Translation Editor, or you can try to uncheck that option in the WPML's settings.
