Background of the issue:
Our site is in English and we wanted to add Estonian. After installing WPML, all the English content was put under the Estonian language. The default language was set to Estonian.

Symptoms:
All English content was categorized under the Estonian language after installing WPML.

Questions:
How to fix the issue of English content being categorized under Estonian?
Can I mass migrate the English content to the English language from Estonian?
What happens if I change the default language to English? Does it delete the current Estonian content?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. It seems your site’s content is originally in English, but the default language in WPML was set to Estonian during the WPML setup wizard. If your site doesn’t have any translated content yet, you can reset WPML and set it up again, selecting the correct default content language (English).

=== Please backup your database and website ===

- To reset WPML:
1. Go to WPML >> Support > Troubleshooting (link is at the bottom of the WPML Support page).
2. Click on the Reset and deactivate WPML button(screenshot attached)

- After resetting:
1. Reactivate WPML plugins and reconfigure the setup.
2. Set English as the default language and Estonian as the secondary language.

This should resolve the issue.

Here is the doc for more details:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/deleting-languages-and-plugin-data-by-doing-a-wpml-reset-on-your-site/

Please let me know if this resolves your issue or if you need further assistance.

Thank you

Hello

The language issue was fixed and content is correctly under english now.

After reset and reactivation/convfiguration, we got this error, is it important?:

We have detected a problem with some tables in the database. Please contact WPML support to get this fixed.

Table 'fotokate_wp573.wp_icl_strings' doesn't exist

Glad to hear the content is under correct language now. For wp_icl_strings' doesn't exist problems, it’s a different issue and will be handled separately as per our support policy. I've created a new ticket for this at:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/after-installing-the-plugin-all-the-content-was-put-into-wrong-language/

If the original issue is solved, please mark this ticket as resolved and we will continue working on the above ticket for it.

Thank you for your cooperation
