This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
After moving a staging site from HTTP to HTTPS and using wp-cli search-replace to update URLs, the front-end and back-end are still requesting HTTP-linked assets, causing issues.
Solution:
We recommend using migration tools like Duplicator or All In One WP Migration for migrating WPML websites to avoid such issues. Please ensure you have a full website backup before proceeding. Follow these steps:
1. Navigate to WPML > Languages and save your Language URL Format options without making changes.
2. Go to Settings > Permalinks and re-save your options without making changes.
3. Visit WPML > Settings and click on "Translate Link Targets".
If the issue persists, consider recreating the migration using one of the recommended plugins.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I moved an old staging site from http (hidden link) to a new staging site on https (hidden link). I used wp-cli search-replace to replace all URLs. When dumping the actual database, there is no link to http:// anymore.

Symptoms:
The front- and backend are still requesting http-linked assets via https, causing issues.

Questions:
Why are the front- and backend still requesting http-linked assets after URL replacement?
How can I resolve the http/https issues after moving the site?

Hey there,

We actually recommend using Duplicator or the All In One WP migration for migrating WPML websites. They avoid having issues like the one you're having. Please make sure to have a full website backup and follow the steps below:

1. Go to WPML > Languages and save your Language URL Format options. No need to make any changes;
2. Go to settings > Permalinks and re-save your options. No need to make any changes;
3. Finally, go to WPML > Settings and click on "Translate Link Targets";

In case this doesn't solve your issue, I'd recommend you to recreate the migration using one of the recommended plugins.
