This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is unable to translate certain elements within their website using WPML. Specifically, they are having issues with translating the 'read more' button and pagination on the search results page, as well as translating and changing URLs in text links within the footer for different languages.

Solution:
1. We recommend using the String Translation plugin to translate the 'read more', 'next', and 'previous' strings that are not visible in the string translations.

2. For translating custom links in the footer, we suggest creating a custom language switcher. You can follow the instructions in our documentation on how to create a custom language switcher: Custom Language Switcher.

Additionally, we provided a screen recording that demonstrates the process of translating links: Screen Recording.

Within WPML I see the option to translate all texts within a template part. This works well. However, there are also things that I cannot translate. This concerns in particular the following parts:

1.
I can partly translate the search results page. For each search result I have placed a "read more" button and pagination. Unfortunately I cannot translate these texts/links within WPML. See attachments

2
Another example: I'm trying to translate the footer. This also goes well with the texts, but there are a number of links to various websites. As an example I use a link to the wpml website (https://wpml.org/), but in the Dutch footer I would like to use the link https://wpml.org/nl, or hidden link. Unfortunately, I cannot achieve this within the WPML translation management.

Hi there,

Thanks for contacting WPML support. I'll try to answer accordingly.

1. Could you try translating the strings using the String Translation plugin?

2. Are you referring to the language switcher as shown in the attached screenshot? If you are, you can check the this article that explains how to create a custom language switcher https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/custom-language-switcher/

Hi Kor,

Thanks for your message

1. Unfortunately I do not see the text "read more", "next", "previous" within the string translations. I don't see where I can change these texts.

2. No, this is not what I mean. In my footer I have placed a textlink (see attachment). I can translate the text of this link, but I can't edit the link to the website. Is it possible to also translate the link? I would like hidden link to be changed to hidden link in Dutch, so that Dutch visitors immediately taken to the correct website after clicking on the link.

Thanks for your reply.

I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

Upon reviewing your debug information, I have observed that the PHP limit for your "WP Memory Limit" is lower than the recommended 256MB or the required 128MB, as mentioned in the documentation found at: https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/. To resolve this, I kindly request that you contact your hosting provider and request an increase in the PHP value for you.

Also, please update the WPML Plugins to the latest version on your Website.
