You are experiencing an issue where translated strings only display when the 'Look for strings while pages are rendered' option is enabled, following a recent WordPress update.
Solution:
If this issue occurred after updating to WordPress 6.7, we recommend you check the following documentation on missing translations on the front end: https://wpml.org/errata/missing-translations-on-front-end/. Background of the issue:
I am trying to fix an issue on my website hidden link after a recent WPML translation update. Translated strings are only displayed when the 'Look for strings while pages are rendered' option is enabled. Before the update, everything worked fine.

Symptoms:
Translated strings only show when 'Look for strings while pages are rendered' is enabled.

Questions:
How can I fix the issue with translated strings not displaying without enabling 'Look for strings while pages are rendered'?
Is there a known solution for this issue after the recent WPML update?

Hi,

I will try to answer the question before assigning the ticket to one of my colleagues.

Would you please follow the steps below?

- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website. Or better approach will be to test this on a copy/staging version of the website to avoid any disruption of a live website.
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Support > Troubleshooting (link)".
- Click the "Show custom MO Files Pre-generation dialog box" button.
- After that, a pop up will show. Click the blue button and wait for the process to finish.

See if it fixes the issue for you.

Thanks.

Hello,

Which exactly are the strings that you are trying to translate and which text domain are they coming from?

Did this issue occur after updating to WordPress 6.7?

If so, please read this:
https://wpml.org/errata/missing-translations-on-front-end/

If not, let me know and we will investigate further.

Best regards
Andreas

Thank you, Andreas!

I downgraded WordPress to a previous version, and it fixed the issue!
