Background of the issue:
I am experiencing an issue with the WPML plugin on my site hidden link. The primary language SK is working fine, but there is a problem with the EN language. I have followed the steps in this topic: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/wpml-seems-to-cause-an-internal-server-error-php-warning-preg_replace-comp/. The error message I encountered is: Warning: preg_replace(): Compilation failed: quantifier does not follow a repeatable item at offset 2 in /data/4/f/4f0c7f68-8b77-445b-932d-9c19c624d4ee/taxi-bratislava-city.sk/web/wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/classes/utilities/class-wpml-slash-management.php on line 118.

Symptoms:
Warning: preg_replace(): Compilation failed: quantifier does not follow a repeatable item at offset 2 in the WPML plugin.

I tried both versions - the problem was not solved. Currently I have kept version 8.1
