Background of the issue:
I am trying to update the WPML sitepress-multilingual-cms plugin on my site hidden link.

Symptoms:
I encountered a fatal error during the update process.

Questions:
How can I resolve the fatal error when updating the WPML plugin?

I would like to look at this directly on your site. For this I would need temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site, preferably to a test/staging site where the problem has been replicated if possible.

The required fields can be found below the comments section. The information you enter is private, i.e. only you and I can see it and have access to it.

I may need to replicate your website locally. To do this, I need to temporarily install a plugin called "Duplicator" or "All in One WP Migration" on your website. This will allow me to create a copy of your website and content. Once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local website. Let me know if this works for you.

IMPORTANT

Please make a backup copy of the site files and database before giving us access.

- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields, this means your post and site login details are being made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details if you do not see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Tell me, please, if the sequence of updating plugins is important:

a. why do you not mention that in the email-newsletter you sent?

b. why do I not find any entry regarding this in your support database?

c. is it safer to update WPML-plugins via «install new -> commercial» instead of clicking the regular WordPress updates tab?

Thank you!

Hey there,

Sure.

A: I've already answered that in the chat: "The order should not be relevant when updating plugins, it's a rare bug. I apologize for the inconvenience.". That's why we don't inform that, because it's not a rule.

B: Because it's not something that should happen, it's an exception that have been approached few times, or not at all in the Forum.

C: It does not make any difference. It's a matter of what you find more suitable and practical

Please let me know about the access, which I've already asked for in my last message. Please refer to it. I need your cooperation to be able to help you with the issue. With access, I can make tests and find a way to safely update WPML 🙂
