[Waiting for user feedback] Search & Filter doesn't work together with WPML
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Our wait time is higher than usual, please make sure you are meeting the minimum requirement - https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements before you report issues, and if you can take a look at current Known Issues - https://wpml.org/known-issues/. Thank you.
Hintergrund des Themas:
I am trying to use a country filter dropdown for partners in both English (EN) and German (DE) on my website. The filters are located at hidden link for German and hidden link for English. I have checked all WPML settings, and the custom post type (CPT) 'Partner' and the taxonomy 'country' are translated properly.
Die Symptome:
When I save the filter settings in the backend, the filter stops working for one of the languages. I expect to get the same results on both filters in both languages, but one of the two filters doesn't give me a result.
Fragen:
Why does the filter stop working for one language when I save the settings?
How can I ensure that both filters provide the same results in both languages?
The Documentation didn't really help me. We've translated the Filter with WPML.
We also have multiple other filters that work properly with WPML only this one isn't working properly.
I can give you temporary backend access if needed so you can check for yourself
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue.
It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.
The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I'll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site.
This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content.
Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site.
**IMPORTANT**
- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields.

Oh sorry thats my fault.
The staging is actually behind a IP Whitelist.
I need to check if we can enter your IP.
What IP could we enter for you to gain access to the site.
My IP is dynamic, and another supporter may need to take over.
To be able to investigate the problem, I created a clean installation of WordPress, ACF, WPML, and all necessary WPML add-ons.
You can access the WordPress dashboard using the link below: hidden link
Kindly follow the steps below:
- Don't restore your site there.
- Install Search Filter Pro, and if you need another plugin or theme for the CPT's
- Try to replicate the issue with minimal steps.
