This is Andrey here. I’m sorry that you ran into trouble with this! I’ll need a little more information to see what’s happening here.

Could you try one thing more? Temporarily turn off all plugins except WPML and those responsible for displaying your page and re-save the translation with minor changes in the original.

If still the issue, then I need to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site – preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible – in order to be of better help. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Hi Andrej,

we have already given access to Noman yesterday.

Are you SURE about switching off all plugins? Wouldn't that cause more problems???
There are 23 active plugins:
Akismet
AMP
Classic Editor (not active)
CoBlocks
CookieYes
Crowdsignal Forms
Crowdsignal Polls & Ratings
Jetpack
Kadence Blocks
Kadence Starter Templates
Layout Grid
Meta Tag Manager
OTGS Installer (not active)
Page Optimize
Popup Maker
Safe SVG
SiteKit by Google
Spectra
Woo Commerce
WordPress.com Editing ToolKit
WPCode Lite
WPForms Lite
WPML Multilingual CMS
WPML SEO
WPML String Translation
Yoast SEO

Please keep in mind that you are writing to non-programmers and that a hint like "all plugins except WPML and those responsible for displaying your page" is not understood. No clue which plugins you are actually referring to.

Please explain - or PREFERABLY - find a solution that does not potentially let us destroy the page.

Since only the translation is affected it seems very much a WPML issue to us.

Thanks

It appeared to me that you are using the test site. Do you have a staging site where we can make some tests?

I'll overview your site and get back to you.

Dear Andrej, sorry, but we don't know what the difference between a test and a staging site is. We were under the impression that we are using an actual site, built in WordPress with Kadence, using WPML to translate and visible on hidden link

Thank you in advance for checking.

Do you think it can be solved?

Dear Andrej,

is there any way to fix this quite imminently? It is embarrassing that parts of the webpage are mixed in Swedish-English and other parts in German-English.

Thank you!

I want to ask you about the possibility of replicating your site locally. For this, I'll need to install a " Duplicator " plugin on your site temporarily. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. If you prefer to do it independently, you can provide me with the snapshot and send me the installer file and the zipped package you downloaded.

Do you know why I cannot edit the homepage in the original language? Attached the screenshot. This happens when I try to edit the Welcome page.

Dear Andrej,

it is fine with us if you install a duplicator plugin temporarily to replicate the page.

Editing the page in original language: Not sure!!!
We have not touched the page since this ticket was opened, and we were shocked to see that we cannot edit it anything either and that pages are in a scramble 🙁
See screenshots.

Please clarify what happened, because we handed over the page to WPML in a much better state than it is now.

Can you please also involve another colleague?

Thank you.

All the best
Carmen

Hello Carmen,

I haven't made any changes to the site or page. I intended to check how you created that page to see possible reasons why some of it is not translated. But I couldn't because of the issue I mentioned.

Let me install your site locally to perform some tests.

To troubleshoot this issue without affecting your site I created a test server for you in Cloudways (https://wpml.org/hosting-partner/cloudways/).

If it is OK with you, we can migrate your content there to further debugging without any risk on your end.

The next steps I will share in the following private message.

Dear Andrej, thank you - we can do these steps. Just to clarify: The present status of the site on WP will still be shown on hidden link? And the Cloudways site is in addition, but not indexed - and once we hopefully healed it, we can put it back on WordPress and set it live, correct?
