Problem:
You are encountering an error message on your site indicating that 'WPML String Translation is enabled but not effective, because WPML is outdated.' Despite this, no updates are showing on the plugin page.
Solution:
If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend you first try clicking the 'Check for updates' button in the Plugins → Add New Plugin → Commercial tab. You can verify the latest released versions under 'My Account -> Downloads' on the WPML site. Detailed instructions for updating can be found here: http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/.
Please ensure to backup your database before proceeding with the update.

If the problem persists after updating, it might be due to the solution being outdated or not applicable to your specific case. Background of the issue:
I am trying to resolve an error message on my site hidden link. The site is showing an error related to WPML String Translation being enabled but not effective because WPML is outdated. However, no update is available for the plugin. The plugin info shows WPML Multilingual CMS version 4.6.15 by OnTheGoSystems.

Symptoms:
The error message states: 'WPML String Translation is enabled but not effective, because WPML is outdated. Please update WPML first.'

Questions:
How do I update WPML if no update is showing on the plugin page?
Why does the WPML website show my site as out of date?

The update is fixed. Thank you!
Can you explain how I get the footer text to translate? Everything else seems to be translating except this area.

Thanks! Laura
