Tell us what you are trying to do?

One of our clients has Weglot installed and does the automatic translation for several languages using Weglot.

We installed WPML but have not activated it before knowing if that will affect the Weglot functionality.

Eventually, we will substitute the Weglot machine for WPML for Human translation.

The question now is if we can activate WPML for a language not used in Weglot since they are using Subdofler to display language like

We want to install and define Spanish that is not in use

Is that possible? What do you recommend.

Is there any documentation that you are following?
I did not find any documentation about it.

Is there a similar example that we can see?
No, that I know. Looking for guidance.

What is the link to your site?

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for contacting WPML support, I will be glad to help you.

It is not recommended to use multiple multilingual plugins at the same time as it can cause compatibility issues or even fatal errors.

I'm afraid that we don't have any docs about how to migrate from Weglot to WPML, so it is better to activate only one of them on the site.

However, you can test it on a staging environment and check if they can work together. Please note that we didn't test this and we can't guarantee that it will work without any issues.

Regards,
Mohamed
