Background of the issue:
I am experiencing a compatibility issue between WPML and Events Calendar Pro on my site hidden link. I am trying to perform a location search for events.

Symptoms:
When I carry out a location search for an event, the site shows no results. For example, a test event set up in location 'Inverness' does not appear in the search results when searching for 'Inverness'. This issue does not occur when WPML is disabled.

Questions:
Why does the location search for events not return results when WPML is enabled?
How can I resolve the compatibility issue between WPML and Events Calendar Pro?

Hi,

Please try my following suggestion and get back to us if you need further help with this issue.

We suspect a collision with the theme or another plugin might cause this problem. If possible, get your site into a minimum environment, switching to a default WordPress theme like TwentyTwenty-Four and having no plugins activated except WPML and the The Events Calendar plugin.

First, you must check if the problem persists when just the theme is switched to TwentyTwenty-Four (for example). If it persists, deactivate all plugins except WPML, its add-ons, and The Events Calendar without any extensions. Then, please check if the problem persists. If it does not persist, start by activating the plugins individually and checking when the issue comes back, then report to me which plugin was the culprit.

**** Important! Please make a full site backup (files and DB) before you proceed with those steps****

*** If your site is live, you might want to try those procedures in a staging environment or a snapshot of your site on your local server or another server. ***

Regards,
Itamar.

Hi there - I carried out the steps as directed - I have only plug-ins WPML and The Events Calendar Pro being used, but the issue still exists. I have tried switching to other themes and the issue still exists

Hi, and thanks for trying my suggestions.

We need to replicate this issue on a fresh WordPress installation. Then, I'll be able to escalate it to our compatibility team. For this, I created a test website with a clean WordPress install. You can access it through this link:

hidden link

With this link, you'll be directly logged in.

I already installed The Events Calendar Pro plugin.

Please see if the issue is replicable on a clean WordPress installation.

Please configure WPML and The Events Calendar Pro as set on your site (just the basic configurations needed to replicate the issue are enough).

Please let us know when everything is finished, and you can replicate the problem.

Important! Do not import your site to the test site. We must replicate the problem on a fresh, clean WordPress installation.

Thanks,
Itamar.

Thanks for this. Your install of Events Calendar Pro is not showing the location search. Can you enable this field as this is what's causing the issue for us. THanks

Hi,

I'm not an expert with the Event Calendar plugin.

Where do you expect this field to show?

Could an extension of the Events Calendar plugin be adding the location feature?
I can see you use the extension Event Tickets.

Itamar.
