Dear Support / Mr Long Nguyen,

[NEW SPLIT TICKET = WEIRD TRANSLATION = NO LOGIC = PROBLEM TRANSLATION PAGE = “ORGANIC FARMING”]
hidden link

see the pages:
hidden link [Dutch]
hidden link [German]
hidden link [Spanish]

Short background: I translated.

= alle pages and tours with automatic translation
= This page is 1 of the five volunteer pages in the 2nd menu [4 of 5 are translated correctly text-wise]!

This page is an exception; I even tried it twice [which is a waste of credits], and I also tried afterward with THE ATE. You can see the WPML Translation Live results on the website. The translated content is “bizarre”. It shows five pictures of the shop, which makes no Logic. None of the Default UK content is translated; it looks “weird.”

After the automatic translation of this page, I also reported this in the ATE Comment form and delivered these results without any s6. I can not find any reason or logic behind this.

Regards,
TON TT

Hi,

In this ticket, I will focus on the issue with the translation of the Organic Farm page. The issue occurs because you have a product category that has the same slug and it causes the conflict slug issue when the product category base slug is removed.
For example in the Dutch language: "biologische-landbouw". Please check these screenshots

hidden link

Then I do some steps below to fix this issue (in Dutch language):

1. Edit the page in English > Switch to Dutch with the language switcher at the topbar.
2. Edit the page slug > Modify it to have a different slug > Save.
3. Switch to English > Make a small change to the page title > Save > Update the translation.

Now you can see the translation page in the Dutch language displays correctly. If you want to translate the page slug in Advanced Translation Editor, please go to WPML > Settings > Translated documents options > Page URL: Translate (this will include the slug in the translation and not create it automatically from the title).

Refer to the documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-page-slugs/#sending-post-or-page-slugs-to-translators

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Dear Mr Long Nguyen,

Upon your guidelines, I changed the category's Slug to [I preferred this Category change; for SEO purposes I did not like to change anything on the Pages and Product].

Category slugs. = category I changed to:

= organic farming = to organic farming workshop [UK Default]
= Biologische Landbouw Workshop [I added workshop in the CATEGORY slug]
= same for German = to [Biologische Landwirtschaft Workshop]
= same for Spanish =to [Agricultura Bologica Taller]

So duplications should be gone.

Afterwards I, changed the page name [organic farming | slug] back again [change you made /-p, to explain to to me the problem which caused the issue], for the Dutch page and deleted the re-directs.

Did I do this correctly? ...? I got a notice NOT to change NOT anything on the Dutch page [as WPML does translatiions = was the message], I am not sure if I did something stupid or wrong, could you check this?

RankMath SEO and WPML [SPLIT TICKET WPML + RankMath SEO]

Another thing I walked into, I saw "slugs" were not translated!, so I changed that in the WPML setting, see Screenshot, Is that okay what I did?

I think the Slug, we should open a split ticket [perhaps there Is already one], to make sure [as this is really important], about the RankMath Seo, it is very important for me that RankMath SEO will be 100% translated with WPML into:

= NL [Dutch]
= De [German]
= ES [Spanish]

In the shop at the Bottom [see screenshots]. The translation of RankMath SEO is very important, I think we had an SEO ticket, and as you stated, Split all to Provide you and me a clear overview.

The slug issue, I think / thought [I assumed this went automatically with [as I translated ALL Pages and Products with Complete Automatic Translation].

This part worries me. Was it wise for me to change these WPML settings of the SLUG [see Screenshot], or was it a bad/stupid move from me. ...?

Regards,
TT

Hi,

Yes, you can edit the page in the Dutch language and change the page slug back to "biologische-landbouw" (remove "-p" as I added). It's just a troubleshooting step to show you what is the issue and how to fix this.

By default, the page slug is generated automatically from the page title on your site at once. It will not be updated even if you update the translation page title. So it is marked not translated when you select to translate the page slug from WPML > Settings.

If you have changed the product category slug, you can consider switching that option to "Auto-generate from title (default)" to keep the current page slug.

If you have another issue with RankMath SEO and WPML, please reply to the related ticket or open a new ticket with a clear description of the issue.

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Dear Mr Long Nguyen,

That is what I did:

= change product category name [worked]
= put the name of of [test nl page = back to original] [worked]

My question about the SLUG: I asked as Default setting [are generated from Title], but the URL translation of, for example, this page Organic Farm [does not contain the SLUG = seen the Default settings, I understand.

But according to RankMath SEO Principle [I might be wrong], this slug is "essential" for SEO Rankings and one of the most critical settings of RankMath SEO.

hidden link [UK Default]
hidden link
hidden link
hidden link

As you see, [keyword is = [volunteering-in-costa-rica]. This keyword, as of these WMPL SEO SLUG DEFAULT settings, you will not see in Translation [which makes the WMPL translated pages rank lower]

I hope I can explain what I meant to say.

At this moment, I left it at Default, but I think that is [from an SEO Perspective, with WPML Translation not correct, I might be wrong].

I do not know the consequences [if I change these settings], so I left it FOR THE MOMENT on Default.

But this might be a problem if I change. I am not sure what happens with the site, ...?

Regards,
TT

= We can handle this issue later,
= but I think it is essential to know what these consequences for SEO are and, if changed in WPML, what kind of consequences that has for website URLs. [I hope all goes automatic without re-redirects; in that case

Hi,

As I mentioned above, the translation page slug is generated at once with the Default setting. So if you update the translation page title or change the page slug in the original language, for example from "organic-farm" to "volunteering-in-costa-rica-organic-farm", the translation page slug won't be changed.

If you want to update the translation page slug, you can:

1. Switch to the option "Page URL: Translate" as I suggested and re-translate the page.

2. Or manually edit the page slug by editing the page in a second language.

Also, I'm afraid that I'm not an SEO expert to explain more about that. Just explain how the page slug is translated and how to update it.

Thanks.

Dear Mr. Long Nguyen,

Could you make from [REGULAR BUTTON LINKS] a SPLIT TICKET

I hope, [probably most and last BIG problem = Navigation Button Link “often do not work yet,” I hope. Rest will be minor or more fun😊

Enclosed is a comprehensive list of All regular buttons [which Navigate the User from Page to page]. I split the list into:

= first menu
= second menu
= sometimes [you might see step 1 + step 2 [+ step 3 with Links] for some Button Links | Navigation = Red Marked are not Working = RED
= Sometimes [I made a comment which might help to find out why [it is often irregular and not consequent why link work | do not work, it seems]

I made 3 different TAB files in the enclosed link from Dropbox, which direct to the EXCELL FILL WITH THESE TAB. The Dropbox Link =

hidden link

The results of the AUTOMATIC WPML Translation:

= are quite different
= might be that older pages, react differently than new pages

Regards and sincerely,
TT
