Whenever I try to overwrite the fields with English content, I encounter a critical error. I have translated the field groups, but they appear empty in the German language version. There are no fields or nested layouts displayed.

Thanks for your patience.

I kindly ask for a snapshot of the site. Alternatively, with your permission, I can create one myself. For this purpose, I typically recommend using the free plugin "Duplicator." If you're already familiar with Duplicator (https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/), please skip the following steps and simply send me the archive file you downloaded.

To guide you further, please adhere to these instructions:

1. View the Duplicator instructions video: hidden link

2. Consult WPML's instructions on providing supporters with a copy of your site: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-supporters-copy-site/

3. If the archive file exceeds 400MB, please use Duplicator's file filters to exclude cache, wp-uploads directory, media, and archive files.

Once you have the archive file ready, kindly share the link with us. You can utilize platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar for file sharing, as the snapshot file might be large.

Please note that your next reply will be private, visible only to you and me. You can paste the file link there. Rest assured that once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local site.

Thank you for being patient.

I apologize for the delay in my response. Upon reviewing your files, I noticed that the database is missing. Would you mind granting me permission to create a duplicator copy of your website on my own?

Tim

Hi there,

As the site is ready to launch, other than this issue with the WPML plugin, we are keen to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible. Do you have an idea as to when you will be able to get back to us with a solution?

Just to recap, we have tried the following to try and get around the issue.

- Initial translations for the field groups, using the auto-translate tool in WPML (English > chosen secondary language)
- Using "copy once" - the data didn't get copied
- Using "overwrite data" with English when copying to secondary language - the data didn't get copied
- We also see a list of fields in the destination site, rather than nested field groups as in the original site

Thanks,
Tim

Thank you for responding.

I'm awaiting feedback from our 2nd Tier Support. Despite trying various methods, the issue persists. Apologies, but we'll have to wait for our 2nd Tier Support to investigate further.

Thanks for being patient.

I've received feedback from our 2nd Tier Support, and here's what they mentioned:

Even though the warning appears similar, the error originates from a different function. In this instance, it's from AttachedPosts::getCount(), possibly due to orphaned metadata.

They suggest trying this solution to clean them up: hidden link , and then checking again.

Important Note : Please perform a full backup before performing the suggested solution.
