[Resolved] Split: What is the quickest way of copying the pages
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client needs to duplicate multiple pages from Simplified Chinese to Traditional Chinese and then manually update the content for each page. Solution: 1. To duplicate individual pages, follow the instructions in the Displaying Untranslated Content on Pages in Secondary Languages documentation. 2. Use the "Copying content" section to duplicate pages but remember to click on the
Translate independently
button for each page to avoid automatic overwriting when the default language is updated. 3. If you need to duplicate many pages, refer to the How to Duplicate Pages and Posts in Bulk section. After bulk duplication, you must press the
Translate independently
button on each translation you modify.

Secondly, I need to know what is the quickest way of copying the pages? I want to simply duplicate the Simplified Chinese pages into the new traditional Chinese pages.
Which section of that page should I follow? I want to duplicate all the current Simplified Chinese pages into Traditional Chinese pages. I will then manually update the content for each.
"Duplicate" will do the same thing but it will leave the pages connected - in sync - with the main language from where you duplicated so, until you don't click on the "Translate independently" button on each of the translation pages on the right sidebar, any change you will make in the default language will automatically overwrite all the content in the other language so that the content is always in sync.
I hope that you will find this information helpful 🙂
It is the one presented in the "How to Duplicate Pages and Posts in Bulk" section.
You will still need to press the "Translate independently" button on each translation you are modifying (there will be a button showing up on the right side of the screen) but that won't be a problem because you are going to manually edit the translations one by one anyway.
Good luck with the website!
