When editing a page in an alternative language with Elementor Page Builder, Elementor will be in that language. Is there a way to tell WPML to always use English in Elementor regardless of what language I edit a page in? I already spoke to Elementor support and they told me this is a WPML issue so that's why I'm opening this ticket here.

When I deactivate WPML, Elementor will use the language that I set in my user Profile. When WPML is activated, Elementor will use whatever language i edit the page in, ignoring the language I have set in my user profile.

Hi Alexander,
Thanks for contacting WPML support.

This is expected because Elementor is a front-end editor, so it will follow the language of the page not the admin language.

We recommend translating the content created with Elementor with the WPML advanced translation editor https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/

As a workaround to keep the Elementor editor in English when editing or creating the translations, you can try the following steps:

1. Create a full backup of the database and website
2. Use FTP or file manager plugin to access the /wp-content/languages/plugins folder
3. Find the Elementor MO & PO German files (e.g., elementor-de_DE.po, elementor-de_DE.mo).
4. Delete or move these files from the folder
5. Clear the site cache

Kind regards,
Mohamed
