This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was unable to add a language switcher to the navigation menus in a custom Full Site Editing (FSE) theme because WPML could not detect the menus.

Solution:
We recommended the client to follow the instructions for translating menus in site editor templates, which can be found in our documentation:

We also provided a video demonstrating that the navigation menu and anchor links were working correctly on the French version of the site.

If the solution provided here does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please open a new support ticket.

Hello,
We're working with a custom FSE theme. The site currently only contains a home page with menus containing anchors and a link to the blog.
However, WPML can't detect the navigation menus, which prevents us from adding a link to change the language in our menus.
We've deactivated all plugins except WPML, and changed the theme to Twenty Twenty-Four, but the problem persists.

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support.

I understand the issue you're experiencing. In the case of Full Site Editing mode, you need to send the Navigation menu for translation to be able to translate the menu and the associated links. Would you please try following the instructions mentioned in the guide below and check if that helps in solving the issue?

- https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-content-created-using-gutenberg-editor/translating-sites-that-use-full-site-editing/#translating-menus-in-site-editor-templates

Please let me know if that helps or if you need further assistance in this matter. I will be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hello Prosenjit,
the navigation menus are already translated using WPML's translation manager.
The pages are also translated.

Hello There,
Thank you for the update.

I checked the French version of the site and found that the Navigation menu is working properly there. The anchor links and also the Blog page is pointed correctly. Please check this video for a better understanding: hidden link

As the navigation menu seems to be working well, has the issue been resolved? If you need further help with the menu, please feel free to let me know. I'm here to assist you!

Best regards,
Prosenjit
