The client is experiencing an issue where images within a flexible content field do not show edit buttons when the page is translated. This occurs when the flexible content field is set to 'copy' and the image field within it is set to 'translate'. Conversely, when both the flexible content and image fields are set to 'translate', the edit/delete buttons appear, but the flexible content does not copy over automatically in translations.

We recommend setting the translation preference for both the flexible content and image fields to \'Copy-once\'. This will allow the content to be copied once to the translated version and then become independent, enabling manual updates. ACF multilingual has an issue with image field in flexible content

Wannes	We have flexible content on our site and when you set the flexible content to 'copy' but an image field inside a flexible content to 'translate' there are no edit buttons on the image when you translate a page. On the other hand when you set the flexible content field to 'translate' and the image inside a flexible content field to 'translate' there are edit/delete buttons on the image, but then the flexible content isn't copied when you translate a page. You have to manually copy it, which is fine for the first time, but after translating independantly it doesn't copy the other flexible content's when you add one more in the original language. Shouldn't it be possible to edit the image when the flexible content field is set to copy? for the editor and text fields inside the flexible content it's no problem. They are translatable when set to 'translate', but the image field is not translatable when set to 'translate'

I understand the issue you're having and will try my best to assist you in this matter. When a field's translation preference is set to 'copy', the value of that field will be automatically copied from the default language to the secondary language(s). This ensures that your custom field value remains consistent across all languages. As a result, the field will be locked in the translated version, preventing updates to that field in the translation. For more information on Translation preferences, you can visit this link: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/recommended-custom-fields-translation-preferences-for-acf-and-wpml/#setting-the-translation-preferences-in-expert-mode In the case of the Flexible fields, we always recommend setting the preference to "Copy-once". Could you please change the preference for the Flexible field and Image field to Copy-Once and check if that helps to solve the issue? With that option, the field value will be copied to the translated version for once and will no longer be synced after that. You can update field values manually from the WordPress Editor.
