Background of the issue:
I am trying to work as usual with WPML. It was working well until 2 to 3 weeks ago. I open the automated translation, correct the title, URL, and a few other things, then click save and publish.

Symptoms:
The corrections I validated do not appear on the published translation. Instead, the version before correction is being published. I have to reopen all translations and resave for the corrected version to appear as the published post. This issue is affecting all our websites and is the same as my previous ticket.

Questions:
Why are my corrections not being published after saving like it used to be?
How can I ensure that the corrected version is published the first time? I have not changed anything in the process..........

Hi there!

May I have a reference page where the problem is happening? and also would you be able to allow me access to the site to test that page?

If possible let me know what change did you make so I can try to locate it on my end and figure out why is it not working on your end.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

The reason why I need a reference page or a few pages where the problem happens is so I can run tests on them. If I pick one randomly and that one doesn't have any problem, it will just be a waste of time for both of us and we will not solve anything.

About not changing it, I guess I can try to find a way to work with that. the SEO is not ruined if you leave it for a few hours but I understand what you're trying to avoid.

Please watch this video that i recorded on your site, in the meantime: hidden link

Can you let me know if this is what you do?

Thanks in advance.

Hi
thanks for answering. However, I have been using WPML without any issue for 2 years, translating thousands of posts.
I don't need information on translating. Sorry for being annoyed, but it is like helpdesk don't have our usage history...

Please go have a look at the website, because what you touched while on my website, created 500 drafts appearing in my list of posts !!!!

And regarding the example, I wll let you know when I have one, but two of your colleagues already looked at it without success (using chat function, text does not appear in this request)

Hello,

Please watch the video and in there you'll see all that I did (I browsed the site, mentioned a few things and asked other things. It's part of our policy to not make changes to live sites without explicit consent).

Those drafts you mention are almost all from before you even opened this ticket and the only one that is from today is for a post that I never even opened, but if that post was edited today, then that could be a clue!

If the drafts weren't there before and now they are, it means that the DB entries didn't have any language assigned to it and now they do.

I totally understand that you are frustrated because this happens but please understand that we need to see the problem and we Can't assume anything not from other tickets or even from this one because that's how misunderstandings are born (that's also why i asked for a reference post) 🙁

----------------------

May I at least know what to look for, how to spot a problematic post that could have this issue? is there something you checked in the front-end that made you edit the translation?

All these things can help me get to the bottom of the problem.

Hi

About the new draft issue:

All those drafts appeared after you cleared the cache under the French list (my initial language) but the content is in different languages. I have no idea where they come from.
They correspond to articles that are published. I checked and those articles are still translated...

I really don't understand where they come from.

About the original issue:

I created a new article for you with just the title and a little bit of text, and no-index (and an older published date so it does not appear on my homepage: 11 august).

the French original is "Que faire à Paris (test WPML)."

When I first open the Danish version
The title was: Hvad skal man lave i Paris (wpml-test)
The URL was:que-faire-paris

I corrected to :
title: Paris Seværdigheder (WPML test)
URL: paris-seværdigheder
I saved both
and clicked on "finish"
And then clicked on "publish"
As I have been doing for 2 years.

However, if you go check, you will see that the published danish version still has the old URL and the old title.

If I reopen the translation, I will see the corrections are still correctly there with the translation editor, even though they are not displayed on the frontend.
But once I re-click on "finish" this time the corrections will display in the published version.
I am not doing that second step for this example so that you can see.
But know that once you open the translation and exit the pb will disappear.

Thanks.

Here is the link to the Danish published translation: hidden link

I also did the English one, so that you have a second example:

The title was: What to do in Paris (wpml test)
The URL was:que-faire-paris

I corrected to :
title:Things to do in Paris (wpml test)
URL: things-to-do-paris

And the link the the current English publised version which did not applied the corrections: hidden link

Hello!

Sorry for the delay but I'm currently waiting on our devs to let us know how to continue here because i could recreate this on a sandbox site as well and it's indeed something weird, don't think it's expected but the devs will let us know more soon 🙂

I'll update you as soon as I have more info about this.
