This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to access the German version of your site and encounter the error: net::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID. This error typically indicates a mismatch between the domain name and the name listed on the SSL/TLS certificate.
Solution:
If you're running a multilingual website with WPML and using different domains for each language, you'll need to ensure that each domain has its own SSL certificate that correctly matches the domain name. This is essential to avoid common name mismatch errors.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we recommend opening a new support ticket. Additionally, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I want to get the German version of the site on 'vulpesgoods.de'. The domain is already pointed with an alias domain to the website.

Symptoms:
"Domain not valid" while it is pointing to the current website. When I enter the vulpesgoods.de domain, it's redirecting to vulpesgoods.com.

Questions:
Why is the domain vulpesgoods.de redirecting to vulpesgoods.com?
How can I connect the German language to the vulpesgoods.de domain?

Hello!
Before one of my colleagues takes over this ticket, I would like to drop-in and provide some potential insight.

I checked the DNS entry for your vulpesgoods.de site and it reports different IP address than vulpesgoods.com server.

You should make sure to do a simple test. Add a static html file to the server and try to visit it on both domains - if the file is accessible then it probably it is correctly setup, otherwise, you probably have some configuration issue and you should probably ask your hosting provider or IT person in charge.

In general both domains should be pointed to the same server.

I did a simple test - you know, WordPress has some static files.
Accessing hidden link redirects me to hidden link
The redirect is issues by Nginx server - so you probably have some discrepancy there in the config, along with the DNS entries not matching.

Hello,

The domain shows the following error:
net::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

The error net::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID typically appears when there's an issue with a website's SSL/TLS certificate. Specifically, it means that the common name (the domain name) listed on the certificate doesn't match the domain you're trying to visit.

If you're running a multilingual website with WPML and using different domains for each language, you’ll typically need an SSL certificate for each domain.

Best regards
Andreas
