This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are working on a multilingual site and have added a new language using WPML. While the posts are translated correctly, the slugs and URLs are not being translated.
Solution:
To enable or change the translation of slugs and URLs, you should adjust the permalink settings for translated content. Here are the steps you can follow:
1. Navigate to WPMLSettings.
2. Under Translated documents options, set the Page URL to "Auto-generate from title (default)".
3. Re-translate the affected posts/pages into the new language to ensure the new URL settings are applied correctly.
For more detailed guidance, please refer to our documentation on translating page slugs.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If further assistance is needed, please open a new support ticket.

Background of the issue:
I am working on a site with two languages: Polish (default) and English. I am adding a new language using WPML. From the translation panel, I select posts or categories and use the automatic translation option.

Symptoms:
The posts are translated correctly, but the slug and URL are not translated.

Questions:
Where can I enable or change the translation of slugs and URLs?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us

There is an option in WPML -> Settings that allows you to select how the slugs and URLs will be translated. Please follow this guide: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-page-slugs/ where you will find all available options.

Regards,
Carlos

Hi,

Please switch the backend language to English so I can understand the configuration. You can change the backend language by editing your profile page, as described here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/setting-the-wordpress-administration-language/

Thank you!

The configuration is correct. Please go to WPML -> Settings -> Post type translation -> Make sure to add the translated slugs and Save the changes. Then double-check if the issue has disappeared after translating a new post.

If the issue persists, I kindly ask you to share a URL where the problem can be seen.

What do you mean by "Make sure to add the translated slugs and Save the changes". I don't see those options there. Can you show me that on a screenshot?

Yes, but you don't have that option under the post, and we're talking about the lack of a translation of the post URL.

Can you create a private message for me to send the data? Because the change is not live.

Of course 🙂

I have set your next message private so you can share the info securely. You can also share the access credentials to the site so I can take a closer look at the configuration.

Confirm you created a full site backup of the site that you can restore if necessary.

Thank you for sharing the credentials requested. However I need you to share a specific URL where I can see the problem, so I can compare the results with my tests.

I added examples in a private message.

Keep in mind that this is a staging site, and I'm using language versions on other domains, so you can't directly preview the entry.

Hi,

I need you to be specific because I don't speak Polish or Czech. What is -specifically- the part of the URL that is not being translated?
