Background of the issue:
I am trying to have the Primary menu translated and synchronized in all site languages, both for the 'Full Width' position on desktop and the 'Mobile' position on mobile. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link

Symptoms:
In the front office, the Primary menu in the mobile location is translated correctly, but in the desktop version, it remains in the primary language (Italian). Changing the theme does not resolve the issue.

Questions:
Why does the Primary menu not change language on the desktop version?
How can I ensure the menu changes language correctly on both desktop and mobile?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the support.

I need to take a closer look at your site. So I request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP), preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.

Your next answer will be private, to share this information safely.

Also provide detailed steps to reproduce the issue and links to pages in the admin and on the frontend.

IMPORTANT: Please take a complete backup of the site to avoid data loss. I may need to activate/deactivate plugins also.

See https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/ for details on privacy and security.

Regards.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

The problem is coming from your theme, which is a custom developed or not WPML compatible. Unfortunately custom coding support is out of scope of this forum, while for an incompatible theme, I'll recommend checking with the theme author.

Because if I try a standard WordPress theme like 2021, then I can see the menu correctly in the translated versions.

Why the footer menu is working with your theme? That's perhaps because of the widget area which are usually defined by themes for other places, as compared to the Primary/Main menu location in the header. There can be other reasons too, I may be wrong. But apparently looks like that problem is in the primary menu or header logic.

Thanks for your support.
I managed to solve the problem even if I couldn't tell you what it depended on.
Actually the theme supports wpml because I had already used it for other projects so I insisted by changing options and returned to the starting settings and it worked again.
