Background of the issue:
I am trying to set up my translated site to use a different domain than the original language site. I have read the advice on how to do this and contacted my web host, simply.com, for assistance with DNS and IP configurations. I have already purchased the domain I want to use for the translation from the same host. Sites are hidden link and hidden link
Symptoms:
The web host does not know how to solve the issue. They initially suggested buying the domain, which I have already done, and then advised redirecting the Danish site to the English domain, which I do not want to do as it would result in losing the original site language.
Questions:
How can I set up my translated site to use a different domain without losing the original site language?
What are the correct steps to configure DNS and IP for using different domains per language with WPML?
Then, to check if it's working correctly, simply visit your new domains or subdomains. They should all show the same site without a redirection.
For example, if you have the domains “hidden link and “hidden link (and WPML is deactivated) you should see the same content when you visit any of these domains.
Before we proceed further, could you please check with your domain provider regarding SSL issue here hidden link as shown in the attached screenshot. I have changed and checked it out in google incognito - it is safe now
But still saying the adress is not valid
If i give you the codes to my host set up by simply.com - maybe you can see the problem
Is it still private I am writing? otherwise it is my mail-adress and the same password on all sites for now.
I better explain the process -
First I had a webhotel: hidden link
To get this as a domain-alias the supporter in Simply adviced me to change to only dns-service, and so I did.
then the supporter attempted to help by make some settings - and i got redirection to peacecitycopyenhagen.dk, somehow. I think the ssl-certificate for peacecitycopenhagen.dk was set from fredsbykobenhavn.dk - and that is why it was not safe in the peacecity-domaine.
Right now i have upgraded back to a webhotel for peacecitycopenhagen.dk to get its own certificate.
I have succeded into make peacecitycopenhagen.dk safe and changed to the right url in wp in both of the domaines
When I write peacecitycopenhagen I am still redirected to Fredsbykobenhavn.dk
fredsbykobenhavn.dk still says the domain is not valid
somehow the language in the control panel hidden link had turned into English, but was showing Danish in the upper panel with wpml-flags
Then I turned the flag into english to see, if I then would get Danish
But no way: Instead I was redirected to hidden link
After trying a lot of things to get into the Danish control panel/site management situation now is
When i write the url for hidden link - I am redirected to hidden link
When I try to get into the site management in hidden link I am redirected to the site management of hidden link
What I have done in attemptions to make it work proberly
via my hoster admin - I deactivated all plugins on both sites with no result
then I made a new wpml-account to hidden link and uploaded the plugin. After this I was allowed to go in to the site management and plugins in hidden link - and change language here into Danish. But then I was no longer allowed to go into the peacecitycopenhagen.dk
Then I reloaded wpml to hidden link - and now I couldn't get into any of the sites becaused I was redirected to many times it said. Via Hoster admin I could delelte wpml in peacecitycopenhagen.dk - and so the sites redirecting ended up where they are now.
I have also tried to repair and optimize wp on both sites via my host admin
Life with the wpml translating to another site is a hell rigth now - sorry
Things are still not clear yet. Let's not touch this Website hidden link and it's loading fine for me as shown in the attached screenshot.
Next, we will focus on this domain name hidden link . When you open this link hidden link , it should display the same content as this one hidden link . This is what you need to fix for now.
Tell your domain provider that you need to point this URL hidden link to the IP address of this domain hidden link
Once you've done that, opening this link hidden link should display the same content as this link hidden link
