I am trying to: translating our header in wordpress - Porto theme. How do i do that? so i can have different menu's based on country.

If you want to have different menus in different languages, then you can translate them manually:

Yes i know.. But i need to translate the header. so i can attach a menu to each language.

1) Could you please let me know how this header template is created?

If it's built using Porto templates, please make sure that the templates post type is set to translatable in WPML-> Settings-> Post Type Translation section.

2) Could you please share your Debug information with me?
You can read a detailed explanation about it here. (http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support)
The debug info will give me a lot of information about how your site is configured.

Hi,

Thanks for the access details. I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
– preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible –
in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.

Your next answer will be private, which means only you and I can access it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate the Plugins and the Theme and change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is critical.

✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.

Hi,

1) The menus are not translated correctly, so the issue happens. Could you please try the following steps?

1- Edit the menus in the secondary languages
2- Select the default menu for this menu (Kindly check this hidden link)
3- Add the menu items to each menu in all languages
4- Clear the cache and check the front end

After that, each language should have its own menus.

2) For the header strings, please check the following steps:
1- Go to WPML-> Theme and plugins localization, select your theme, and scan
2- Go to WPML-> String Translation
3- Scroll down and click on the "Translate texts in admin screens »" link
4- Search for the needed strings
5- Select the strings
6- Click on the "Add to String Translation" button
7- Then click on the "« Return to String Translation" link
8- Translate the strings, clear the cache, and check the front end
