Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate links. We translate our affiliate links to send to the right language page.
Symptoms:
With the brand new release of the new version of WPML, the process for link translation has a bug. When we click edit to modify the links, it adds 'amp;' to the link which makes the link not work. At the end of our affiliate links, to track campaigns, we have '&cmp=name_destination'. When we click on edit, this section of the link becomes '&cmp=name_destination'. If we don't remove the 'amp;' added by WPML, the final version has no '&' which breaks the link.
We even have one link, where we can't get the system to put the & back.
This is a really big bug, it impacts directly our revenue.
Additionally, the process adds 3 clicks compared to the previous process, which is not efficient.
Questions:
How can I fix the issue where 'amp;' is added to the links when editing the link in the translation?
Below are 3 images:
step 1 - The original link copied by WPML
step 2 - The edited version where it adds the code
step 3 - The saved version, if we did not remove the amp; that shows the & has disappeared
We are aware of this issue, and it will be fixed. As a temporary solution, you can switch to the previous version of the translation editor when you open a translation. I have attached the screenshot.
