Background of the issue:
I am using WPML on my site hidden link. I want to know if I can translate some pages manually in the WordPress editor while having others translated using the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE). Specifically, I want to know if I can translate one product using ATE and another product manually.

Symptoms:

Questions:
Can I translate some pages manually in the WordPress editor while using ATE for others?
Do I have to translate the same product entirely in ATE or WordPress, or can I mix methods?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.

1) You can translate some pages manually and some pages using the translation editor by the following steps:

1- Edit the page in the default language
2- Click on the "WordPress Editor" tab in the language side panel
3- Translate the page

Kindly check this guide to know more about manual translation.

2) Could you please share your Debug information with me?
You can read a detailed explanation about it here. (http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support)
The debug info will give me a lot of information about how your site is configured.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi Osama,

Thanks for your help,

Because I have a big place with 24 languajes I want to be sure about some questions.
1. I have configured ATE for new translations (see snap).

I understand for some products or categories I can select translate with WordPress classic, in the product layout, same for the entired translations with this same product.

2. Even if now I have with Ate but I have reedited the text, now can be with WordPress editor?

3. Actually I have everything with ATE. But I am changing the translations frecuently and the cost is to much to do it always by ATE; then can I have for example 65% of my site in ATE and 35% in WordPress classic? You thing I will have any problem?

thanks Osama,

Joaquín

Hi Joaquín,

You can select between the WordPress editor and ATE inside each page/product, but if you select the WordPress editor for a page, don't use ATE for it later.

Using more than one editor for the same page might cause some issues.

You can use ATE and turn off the auto-translation, so you can update the translation manually without paying anything.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi,

Please go to WPML-> Settings-> Translation Mode, select "Translate What You Choose", and save.

After that, when you translate a page using the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE), you can manually translate the content.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi Osama,

This can't be edited. Is blocked (snap). You mean I have to change if I use the WP WordPress translator for some products?

Please go to WPML-> Settings-> Translation Mode, select "Translate What You Choose", and save.

thanks,

Hi,

I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.

Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.

✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.

Best regards,
Osama
