Background of the issue:
I am working on a site under development and trying to import posts from a live site using WPML. I have followed the process outlined in the documentation at https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-export-and-import/.

Symptoms:
After importing, when I click WPML export import, I only see the 'How to Export and Import Content in Multiple Languages' page. All posts are shown as English, but half of them should be Spanish translations of the original English posts.

Questions:
Why are all posts shown as English instead of having some as Spanish translations?
How can I correctly import posts so that translations are recognized?

Hello,

The WPML Export & Import Plugin needs to be active on the site now where you export the content.

Before exporting you need to activate the export at WPML > Export & Import.

This way, WPML will add important colors to the files for connecting the content later on import.

Then on the import site, you also need to enable the import option at WPML > Export & Import before importing the content.

After import, you will again need to go to WPML > Export & Import to complete the connection between imported content.

In case you followed this workflow and it is still not working, please let us know.

Best regards
Andreas
