Background of the issue:
I am trying to reopen a ticket that is not resolved: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/automatic-generation-of-lets-say/page/2/#post-16005472. We got duplicates of images in translated languages in the media library. We already created a ticket about this and supporter Kor escalated this to 2nd Tier support, as we could reproduce it in an installation from Kor. But now the ticket is closed. Symptoms:
Duplicate images in the media library are created automatically in translated languages.
Questions:
Why are duplicate images being created in the media library for translated languages?
Can you reopen the ticket or continue with this issue?
I see it was closed, but it shouldn't have as it is not yet fixed. I will reopen it again and you can ping my colleague Kor there if any other questions about this issue. But as I can see there are no updates on this and is planned in the future for a permanent fix from our devs. This issue leads to duplicated media entries if an image is removed from a site and later on the same image is uploaded again.
Please ask for anything further in an old ticket which is opened now.
