Background of the issue:
Home is set to display the static Home page (you can select and view this via the menu), but clicking the logo on the topbar loses the content. If I disable the WPML plugin, the logo works as it should, so this is a bug with WPML which is somehow removing the home page content. The site has a temporary under construction baner (disabling this has no effect on the issue), so you can view the website using the login details here:
[removed by support]

Symptoms:
The header logo is not linking to the home page. Instead, it loses the content. Disabling the WPML plugin resolves the issue, indicating a bug with WPML.

Questions:
Why is the header logo not linking to the home page?
How can I fix the issue with WPML affecting the header logo link?

Hey there,

I removed the credentials you sent because this forum is public. I strongly recommend you to delete the user from which you shared the information or at least change its password.

Please send me the credentials in the recommended way below:

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

IMPORTANT

- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Also worth noting:

Under WordPress Seettings > Reading Settings, the 'Your homepage displays' selector isn't there, when WPML is activated.

Which is probably why WordPress has lost the setting for the Home page to link to a static page (in this case Home).

Haven't heard from you, but the issue seems to be resolved so I'm guessing you fixed something.

I checked with my host who said the account itself had hit I/O usage, probably when I updated the WPML plugin, and this may have been the reason it broke the WordPress system, and the option to set a static home page was lost.

If you did fix this, it'd be useful to know how you did so, as it seems this could be a recurring issue.

Hey there,

Thank you for waiting. Let me address your questions.

I haven't noticed you had marked this ticket as private, I apologize.

About the homepage selector in the reading settings, that shouldn't be the case. I just checked on a test environment, and the option is available with WPML activated.

I haven't touched the website, it could be some caching issue that was solved with time. In this situation, we can leave this ticket open and monitor if the issue will happen again. Let us know in case you have any issues again.
