I create the site sted.coexia.net as clone of konosbcn.com. I use different key but I tells me that Is the same site. How can I make both sites to work?

Hi there.

I think you might have clicked the MOVE option when you duplicated the site and logged into the backend, and that set the website as a deleted website and that is why you can not access it anymore.

If you want to have a staging website, you need to select the COPY option.

For now the only way to get around this is for you to downgrade WPML to version 6.4.3 and this time select the COPY option:

https://wpml.org/download/wpml-multilingual-cms/?section=changelog

After that, you can upgrade again to 4.6.4.

Let me know how things go.

If my recommendation will not help, I would need to better understand what do you mean by "How can I make both sites to work?".

Thanks.

Hi, where do I select this MOVE, COPY option? In the wpml website or on the WordPress sites? The thing is as you are saying. I wanted to create a copy, I did it with the cPanel WordPress Toolkit and then assigned a different license key. You let me know where I select the COPY option. Many thanks

Hi there.

I'm not sure how this option works (by doing it via the "cPanel WordPress Toolkit").

Our recommendation is to use the following plugin:

Documentation can be found here:
hidden link

Here is a small tutorial on how to use Duplicator:
hidden link

This should perfectly migrate your website maintaining the exact same setup and also taking care of the search and replace process so that the old links will be overwritten with the new URLs of the new domain you are migrating to (in case you are also changing the domain and not only the server).

Also, when you duplicate/copy/migrate a site, you might see a note like this one and on this page you have a good amount of recommendations:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/using-advanced-translation-editor-when-you-move-or-use-a-copy-of-your-site

I hope that you will find this information helpful!

Please let me know how things go.

Hi there and thank you for the update.

Can you please send me a screenshot of the exact message you see on both sites?

Thank you!

Hi there.

Thank you for the video.

So, something went wrong probably in the migration process.

It is impossible for me to tell what happened - I could only try to guess and that is not something that we can count on. Something went wrong in the migration process.

Following the steps here (https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/using-advanced-translation-editor-when-you-move-or-use-a-copy-of-your-site/#using-a-copy-of-your-site) should definitely allow you to run a copy of the main site while using a different key (as you already mentioned that you actually created a new key for the other site).

So, as long as you are already using one unique key for each site, it is obvious that probably something didn't migrate properly.

I understand that you wouldn't like to do the migration process once again (with Duplicator this time), but there's not much that we can figure out if we don't do that.

Please let me know how you would want us to proceed.

Mihai
