I am trying to:

Translate a block theme (a child theme of the "Spectra One" theme).

I expected to see:

The same template being used in both the main and secondary language.

Instead, I got:

The default template of the parent theme.

Things I've checked:

"Synchronize page template" is on.

Screenshots:

In the screenshot you see the opened site editor with the cover image (in the site's main language), and when switching to the secondary language and opening the site editor again, I get the parent theme's default template.

Is WPML compatible with WP 6.3.1, or is it an issue with the block theme?

Very grateful about any hint from your side 🙏✨

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support. Sorry for the delay in responding due to the weekend.

I understand what you're looking for. If you want to see the same template in a secondary language as well, you need to translate the template to that language first.

Please check the documentation below to understand the process of translating Block templates.

- https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-content-created-using-gutenberg-editor/translating-sites-that-use-full-site-editing/#translating-the-site-editor-templates

Once you've finished the translation, switch to another language and access the template. I hope the design of the translated template will appear the same as the original template.

Let me know if that helps or if you need further assistance. I will be happy to help.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit

Dear Prosenjit,

Thanks for your hint!

I understand what you wrote and translated the templates. See image attached.

Unfortunately, still the same problem:

When switching to the secondary language the wrong template is being displayed.

What am I missing?

Let me know if I can provide you with more information.

Best wishes!

It works now!

Apologies.. I figured out that an essential "template part" was not translated yet.

It honestly is a bit confusing that the "template parts" of the parent theme are loaded, too. I have 3 "header" template parts, when I only use one.

If you have a hint on that, I'd appreciate!

Best wishes and thank you again for you support!
