We have WPML installed on a Nginx server and all works fine. however if you run into anz issues zou can use our supprt forum to get further assistance.
Yes, if you get the yearly account (either Blog or CMS), you can renew your account for 50% of the original price. Renewals at this rate are available while your account is still valid. You get another full year. If your account expires, you may buy a new account, or upgrade to a Lifetime account, but you cannot buy the renewal at 50%. Don’t worry. We will not let you forget. We send out reminder emails 30 days and 3 days before your account expires and we also show a big message about it inside your wpml.org account.
I am also interested in this question, but your answer is not exhaustive! may you describe the steps of the lifetime upgrade after I bought Blog or CMS version?
Hi Josh,
thanks for your interest in WPML.
Here you are: http://wpml.org/showcase/
In this showcase you will see different WP sites made multilingual with WPML, submitted by our customers.
Hi Andrew,
you ask if you can translate your categories and have one category in two languages, yes, this is possible, and yes, this is possible with the blog version.
Do you know if using your tool with a single wordpress site will help our Google ranking in other languages/countries or do we have to do a multi site setup to improve our ranking?
Hello i will like to know if i can use this plugin with all the themes? if not how do i know if the theme that i’m using is compatible?, Do i have to buy the plugin for different websites or it’s a plugin that i can use in different websites?
Thank you so much for your quick response. I’m looking forward to buy it!
Hello Manuel,
Generally speaking every theme that uses WordPress API runs multilingual with WPML. But currently the themes offered in the WP marker are more and more sophisticated and offer more and more custom options. These to be translated require the presence of so called wpml config file. Some developers can create this file themselves, while for others it is a challenge. This is why we ask theme authors for their help here. When a theme author provides his/her theme with such a file your works is easy – all the theme depended strings will appear automatically in our String translation module. If this the case, you will find this theme in our compatibility list: http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
Hi, I would like to have my blog in 2 languages, but do not want the language switcher. Instead, I would like to have a link on my English page that would lead to the other language page, essentially having 2 sites in one domain. Is it possible to do with this plugin? Thank you for your time.
Hey Mariko,
yes, this is also possible. You don’t have to include the language switcher at all and you can click an option in your WPML settings to have a link to your translation in your post/page directly.
I want to be sure that i’m not oversimplifying in my mind what is required to use wpml. This is the first time i’ve ever needed to translate a site. Is it as simple as installing the plugin and saying i want dutch, spanish and portugese? I’m curios about the actual mechanics of it.
thanks
WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically.
WPML provides you an interface allowing to translate all your WordPress elements: posts, pages, menus, tags, categories, custom post types, custom fields, different strings etc. So WPML makes you WordPress site multilingual but doesn’t translate your contents. To translate your texts you have to possibilities:
1. To provide the translations yourself
2. To send a post/page to our professional translators from ICanLocalize service. This is integrated with WPML so you can do this directly from your WordPress admin and you also receive it directly to your WordPress.
Here you will see a video how it works: http://www.icanlocalize.com/site/services/wordpress-translation/
I am looking at using your solution and have a question.
I have a service that will be offered in two markets, US and Brazil. I’m debating purchasing the country specific domain. So I’ll have: mysite.com, and mysite.com.br
My thought process is that when someone hits the .com.br domain it will load the Portuguese version, the .com will hit the English version. Is this supported and the best practice with your plugin (I use wordpress), or is it better to simply do a mysite.com/br/? What are the pros/cons of each?
Also, will your plugin make a determination as to the origin country of the page request and load the proper language?
Hi Tony,
WPML lets you set your languages both as subfolders or sumdoains within the same domain. If you want to have independent sites (each with its own domain), from a single Network-enabled WordPress install more work is required to configure it, but it is also possible. This tutorial will guide you through the required steps: http://wpml.org/documentation/essential-multilingual-plugins/multilingual-site-network-with-domain-mapping/
WPML can detect your visitor language based on the settings in their browser. This option is disabled by default.
Hi, I accidentally erased the copy of the plugin I had installed on a clients website. Is there any chance you could supply me with another copy of plugin? i can provide registration details if you contact me?
Having a question, according to your money back guarantee, if We purchase it, and thus could install, test and in case it does not offer the functionality needed, we can return the license key?
My name is Edward Chamberlin. I am setting up a new version of our company’s website in WordPress, and we want to make the site bilingual (English-Spanish) with possible further languages to come.
We’re using a WordPress theme called Diamond, which isn’t compatible with qTranslate Plus. Before investing in another option, I want to be sure that WPML will work for us.
Will WPML work with this kind of set up? We have all the translations ready to go – we just need to duplicate all the English pages, and flow the Spanish content in. Once that’s done, we simply want visitors to be able to toggle a language button, to be taken to the equivalent page in the other language. Will WPML work for this approach?
I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you very much.
Since the Diamond theme isn’t in our theme compatibility list I cannot assure you that it will work with WPML without any issues. Generally speaking every theme that uses WordPress API runs multilingual with WPML. But currently the themes offered in the WP marker are more and more sophisticated and offer more and more custom options. These to be translated require the presence of so called wpml config file. When a theme author provides his/her theme with such a file your works is easy – all the theme depended strings will appear in our String translation module.
I don’t know how the predesigned widgets will behave with WPML. Please consider buying WPML with refunds policy in mind: http://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

Thanks for getting back to me. I guess I’ll do a back up of our site, and then purchase and install the plugin to see if it works. If so, then we’ll go along with it, and if not, we’ll revert to the backup, ask for a refund and try a different approach.
I’ll also ask the theme designer about the config file.
Hello, I just purchased WPML and i didn’t receive the confirmation email. I tried to insert my email 3 times to get the link again and do not receive your emails. Can you try emailing me at (edited)? for some reason nothing is coming to(edited).
My question has been erased and I haven’t received an answer yet. I just purchased WPML and never got the confirmation email even when trying to reset it 3 times.
Please email me ASAP. This is pretty disappointing service.
Hi there –
I bought the basic version – but before I did I was told by pre-sales that I could upgrade and pay the difference to the next level – can you please invoice me so I can do this? I’m wanting the Multilingual CMS – but i’m not paying $79 on top of the basic – Thanks
You ask about the possibility to upgrade, right? As I explained it in my reply to your previous comment please feel free to do so from your WPML account.
hi, im not sure that i can install one the first page, can you see and tell me? if i can put in the spca wher is the text its better.
If trhere is a widget to side bar, i cant because on the home page there is no side bar.
can i put in the menu by exemple?
2/ if i can put on home page and if somebody choose spainish, is the complete website who is translate or on each page i must change the langauge?
Thanks for your answer
Denis
Hi Denis,
WPML allows you to insert your language switcher into your widget and your footer. This is done with one click. But you can insert your langues switcher in any place you want (header, menu for example) but this required adding custom code. We provide the documentation how to do so and also our support team can help you with that.
Our client requires just to translate a few pages instead of the entire website. Is there such a setting? So we can define which pages are translated and which are not?
Hello ,my client purchased this theme and wants me to build a multi language woocommerce shop for him 1) how can i tell if this theme supports your plugin WPML here is the link https://www.mojomarketplace.com/item/gadgeoo-an-ultra-responsive-woocommerce-theme. does “Internationalization Ready with .po/.mo files provided” mean it supports your plugin?
2) what if this theme does not support WPML ,does this mean I cant use it at all?? or it means a lot of bugs and will need a lot of customizations work/hours?
Hi Sigal, I cannot find any information confirming that this theme is WPML ready but is the good news is that this theme supports wooCommerce which is also important. When a theme author provides his/her theme with such a file your works is easy – all the theme depended strings will appear in our String translation module.
What should work without any problems even if your theme is not announced as WPML fully compatible. You will still be able to translate:
posts, pages, menus, tags, categories, custom post types, custom fields, taxonomies, different strings etc.
I want to buy your plugin with a lifetime license for my company, and I need an invoice with my company’s name on it. Is is possible? Do you able to make out a bill and put my company’s name and address on it as buyer’s name and address?
Yes, this is possible. Payment information is not related to account ownership in our system. You can use your corporate credit card. Later, you can customize the information on your tax receipt, to show the correct name that your accounting needs. All you need to do is to log into your WPML account (once it is created) and go to Invoice section.
We want to try this plugin but we are installing into a Nginx environment. Are there any special setup concerns we should be aware of?
Thanks,
We have WPML installed on a Nginx server and all works fine. however if you run into anz issues zou can use our supprt forum to get further assistance.
I would like to call your client service why is not possible to find a phone number?
I’m sorry we don’t offer any help by phones. Here’s how you can contact us:
http://wpml.org/home/contact-us/
If I buy the the Multilingual CMS version, can I upgrade to the Lifetime later? If so, is there a cutoff time?

Yes, if you get the yearly account (either Blog or CMS), you can renew your account for 50% of the original price. Renewals at this rate are available while your account is still valid. Hi there
I’m very interested in purchasing a lifetime license.
Please could you give me a list of sites that are using WPML so I can see how it’s been integrated into the front end.
Many thanks.

Hi,
If i have one post with 2 languages. Can i select a different category for each language? Can this be done with the blog edition?
Also is blog edition of the plugin compatible with UberMenu ?
Thanks
Hi Andrew,
you ask if you can translate your categories and have one category in two languages, yes, this is possible, and yes, this is possible with the blog version.
About the UberMenu compatibility.
We don’t have this plugin in our official list of plugins compatible with WPML but some of our WPML customers use this plugin. If you also look at this thread
http://codecanyon.net/item/ubermenu-wordpress-mega-menu-plugin/154703/comments?page=16
you will learn that some of the users claim it works fine with WPML.

Hi Nirali, yes, it works exactly like you described it.
But please note that you have 30 days to do so:

Hello,

We’re using a WordPress theme called Diamond, which isn’t compatible with qTranslate Plus. Before investing in another option, I want to be sure that WPML will work for us.
The Diamond theme (which can be seen here: http://themeforest.net/item/diamond-responsive-business-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/8804984) is a highly modular theme: you drag and drop predesigned widgets to build your pages. qTranslate Plus’ dual text box mechanic doesn’t work with this theme.

Dear Edward,
thank you for your interest in WPML and your questions.
You mentioned qTranslte. Did you know that there is a plugin (done by our team) which allows you to migrate from qTranlate to WPML?

Hi
I have more than one WordPress,
Can I purchase WPML only Once and run one license for my websites
Regards
Hi Rachid, yes, you can. You buy only one license and you can use it for all your sites.
Hi,
Once purchased, on how many (different) websites do you allow usage of the plugin ?
Hi Peter,
Unlimited which means that you buy only one license and you can use it for all the sites you are building.
Hi
I am developing a new wordpress site that uses woocommerce canvas theme and gravity forms+gravity forms add on to put bespoke products into the cart.
Can you say if WPML will be compatible?
If not, can I purchase it with the 30 day guarantee in mind if it doesnt?
Many thanks
Yes, WPML is Canvas theme compatible:
http://wpml.org/theme/canvas/
Of course you can return WPML if it doesn’t satisfy your needs:
http://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
but I hope everything will be fine and you will be satisfied.
