I am interested in using your plugin to create an english and spanish version of my website. I am worried about one thing though: I have assigned one menu to desktop navigation, and one to mobile navigation, as my theme allowed to do so.
To build part of my desktop navigation menu I have used customed Images that I make in photoshop or illustrator instead of text links. I can make those images with texts in spanish and english myself but what I would need the plugin to do is allowing me to assign a new menu to each language inside the admin>appearance>menus panel so that I can reproduce the same build-up of custom content, widget areas and images I made for the french version with the english and spanish one.
For the mobile menu, as it is all text, there shouldn’t be any problem.
Hi Marie,
to translate your menu WPML create a copy of it but for each different language. I cannot assure you that it will work with your custom changes but you can purchase the plugin, ask your question in our technical support forum and in case it doesn’t satisfy your need you can ask for refund: http://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
Hallo,
I would like to purchase WPML to build an English version of my site, but before I would be sure that the Equilibrium Theme (provided by Theme Forest) is compatible with WPML.
Can you assure me that there is compatibility?
Thank you for your attention.
If Equilibrium Theme is not on the list, it simply means we have not tested it. Still, if the author has followed WordPress documentation thoroughly the theme/plugin should be basically compatible.
Also note you’re welcome to try WPML with it and see how they work. If you need help, our supporters at the forum will assist you. We will also be happy to work with the author on the compatibility, if needed. If, after all, WPML does not suit your needs we will refund you right away. You have up to 30 days to try it http://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
Generally speaking every theme that uses WordPress API runs multilingual with WPML.
You will be able to translate your posts, pages, categories, tags, menus, images, custom posts and taxonomies, even custom fields irrespective of a theme chosen.
But currently the themes offered in the WP marker are more and more sophisticated and offer more and more custom options. These to be translated require the presence of so called wpml config file. Some developers can create this file themselves, while for others it is a challenge. This is why we ask theme authors for their help here. When a theme author provides his/her theme with such a file your works is easy – all the theme depended strings will appear in our String translation module. By the way, I just asked the theme author to join our Go Global program. If you visit the Comment section for
Equilibrium Theme at Theme Forest you should should see my comment as well.
We have a WPML licence for life and created a site with WPML to our client. On the site these add-ons are used:
wpml-cms-nav
wpml-string-translation
wpml-translation-management
Now the client is renewing the site but not with us. They can get the fore-mentioned WPML add-ons from the server but if they need other add-ons, does our licence cover downloading them and sending to the client or will they need to purchase a licence of their own?
Yes, you can send them the files but they will need their own licence to ask questions at the support forum or to upgrade the plugin(s) themselves directly from WPML.
Hello,
We are very interested in using your software to translate our but I just had a couple of quick questions as to how it works.
1. Is it possible to set the plugin to detect the language based on where the use is browsing from?
2. Some of the text on our site is images, will we be able to translate and insert them as well?
Any and all information is greatly appreciated. Thanks is advance.
Bryan g
Hi Bryan,
thanks for your interest in WPML.
1. Yes, WPML can detect the visitor’s language based on his/her browser and redirect the user accordingly. This is disable by default but you can quickly turn in on in WPML settings.
2. Yes, for this you will need an extra module, called Image Transaltions, which is included in CMS or LIfetime package.
I am re-posting this question as I am not sure it got submitted yesterday and I can’t see my comment posted but can see others that have posted yesterday.
We are in process of upgrading our site from WordPress 3x to 4x and would also like to upgrade to the latest version of WPML but when I login to the site it says –
“Your WPML account has expired, so you cannot download new versions or access our support.
You can buy a new account, or save by upgrading to a Lifetime account at a reduced rate.
Upgrade to a Lifetime account ($116.00 instead of $195.00). Buy the Multilingual CMS again ($79.00).”
Why can’t I see the $39 Account renewal per year option?
So the answer would be: this is because you missed your renewal date. We send notifications 30 days and 3 days before expiration. Sometimes, rarely, spam filters interfere. Didn’t you get any notifications? Please check your spam folder and let me know if you missed it indeed.
I am interested in this plugin purely for the multiple currency features. I’m hoping you can help clarify some questions I have with this.
1 – Given I only want my website to be displayed in English, is it possible for me to make use of this plugin purely for the multi currency features? I do not want to use the exchange rate calculator, I want manual settings per currency which it appears you have.
2 – What options are there for dictating the customers currency? I could not find any documentation on this. Let me give you an example… It is common for USA customers to pay less for online merchandise shopping due to fiercer competition. I would like US customers to have price “$20 USD”, whereas I may want the Australian customers to pay “$50 AUD”.
2 a) Giving the user a drop-down menu to select their desired currency. Giving them a simple currency selector would not be a safe measure, as they’d just select the one that offered the cheapest price.
2 b) Based on their delivery address. This would not work as the customer would not see their true price until making it all the way to the checkout.
2 c) Basing it on their GeoIP location. Sure there are ways to “break” this by using a proxy to use a fake IP, however this is the most accurate way I can see to give the customer real-time pricing that is relevant to them. <— Does your plugin support this???
Extremely keen to hear how the multi-currency works as this is make or break for me to get this plugin!
Hi Sami,
I’m afraid you will not be able to achieve what you expect. But let me consult my answer with our WooCommerce Multilingual developers. In the meantime please play our with this demo site to see how the currency switcher works: http://wc-emw.wpml.org/product/fashion-secrets/
Hi Sami, hi again. Thanks for your patience.
So our WooCommerce Multilingual lead developer confirms: No – the plugin doesn’t support GeoIP location. What you expect isn’t possible without custom coding i.e. force different prices for different users especially make it hack-proof. One easy approach would be for you to translate the products and use distinct currencies for each translation. Of course if there’s a language switcher handy someone can switch to the other language.
I plan to integrate WPML in my Woocommerce site but have a couple question beforehand:
1) is it possible to have different bank accounts showing for bank transfer depending on what currency/country someone is from?
2) how does translation of transactional emails work? Can I still use my own templates?
Hi Marc, thank you for you interest in WooCommerce Multilingual. Let me consult my answers with our WooCommerce Multiligual experts to provide you with best reply. Thanks for your patience.
Hi Marc,
1. No, this it not possible to have different bank accounts showing for bank transfer depending on what currency/country someone is from.
2. The email texts are translated via the String translation module. Including the email templates. When you buy WPML CMS or LifeTime license you will be able to download more than one plugin from your WPML account. One of them deals with string translations. It will detect all your wooCOmmerce strings and allow you to provide your translations. Our support people will assist you in case of any problems figuring it out.
I need multiple currencies on my store, however I’d like them as a custom fields instead of currency rates.
In addition I’d like to post these values into total prices while purchuasing, not only for information.
Another question, does it work with dotpay ? I’m using this plugin for that http://www.wpdesk.pl/sklep/dotpay-woocommerce/
The last one, can I achieve all of this by buying economic version ?
Hi Matthew, thank you for you interest in WooCommerce Multilingual. Let me consult my answers with our WooCommerce Multiligual experts to provide you with best reply. Thanks for your patience.
Hi Matthew.
Answering your questions. It is possible to set custom prices in different currencies for individual products. Those will override the prices generated by the exchange rates. About the plugin you linked. We cooperate with wooCommerce team a lot to make as many of their plugins compatible with WooCommerce Multilingual but sorry, but for the time being we don’t have any records about this particular extension.

You can do everything what woo-commerce plugin itself allows you to do. If you ask about dealing with translation in shipping context, this document covers everything related to shipping classes: http://wpml.org/2013/12/woocommerce-multilingual-table-rate-shipping/

I’m very interested in purchasing your plugin, but there’s a question I could not find an answer to.
I’m using WooCommerce for my online store. I would like to use your product for adding another language (Hungarian) to my website. However I want to change the currency (from USD to HUF) appearing on the website as well and also the price. So the price would show up in HUF when somebody is viewing the website in Hungarian. Will I be able to do that?
Hi Luca, yes, it will be possible with our WooCommerce Multilingual plugin. Here’s a demo site showing how it works with different currencies: http://ref.wp-types.com/bootcommerce/
I work for a company which has 2 websites (WordPress Themes).
I want to translate this websites in many languages (UE languages, Japanese and Chinese). Is it possible?
Thank’s!
Hi,
thank you for your interest in WPML and your questions.
Yes, you can use WPML to get your site ready to handle different languages, including Japanese and Chines. But please note that WPML doesn’t’ translate your content. You provide the translations or you can send your posts to professional translators.
I have been using your plugin on previous versions, but I have never been able to upgrade from 2.6 (always getting error messages).
Now that my license has expired, I don’t think that I would be able to migrate, but if I get you last version can you help me upgrading and get rid of errors I have?
Hi Benjamin,
please go and buy and upgrade. We will try to do our best to help you (you will need to contact our support forums for technical help). But if it turns out that it doesn’t solve your problems, you can always ask for your money back: http://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

Hi,
I am thinking to buy this plugin for WordPress and I have some questions
1) What else is recommended to install WPML first then start build the website and translate at the same time or finish the website then install WPML.
2) Another thing that I wanna know should I use Multisites with WPML or no need and what is your recommendation ?
3) If I am on a page in French and wanna switch to another language this will make me go to the index ? or only change the current page language ?
4) Did the plugin can slow my website ?
Thank you.

Yes, sure. Everyone gets a tax invoice after purchase. You can customize that invoice to include your details for accounting purposes.

Hi there,
I’m very interested in purchasing your plugin, but there’s a question I could not find an answer to.
Thanks,
Luca
Hi Luca, yes, it will be possible with our WooCommerce Multilingual plugin. Here’s a demo site showing how it works with different currencies:

I want to translate this websites in many languages (UE languages, Japanese and Chinese). Is it possible?
Thank’s!
Respectfully,
Catalin
Hi,
thank you for your interest in WPML and your questions.
Yes, you can use WPML to get your site ready to handle different languages, including Japanese and Chines. But please note that WPML doesn’t’ translate your content. You provide the translations or you can send your posts to professional translators.
Hello,
I have been using your plugin on previous versions, but I have never been able to upgrade from 2.6 (always getting error messages).
Now that my license has expired, I don’t think that I would be able to migrate, but if I get you last version can you help me upgrading and get rid of errors I have?
Hi Benjamin,
please go and buy and upgrade. We will try to do our best to help you (you will need to contact our support forums for technical help). But if it turns out that it doesn’t solve your problems, you can always ask for your money back:

Dear Management!
I wanted to get a refund, but unfortunately I can’t find the e-mail with the order ID.
Maybe this is because I’ve made a mistake with my e-mail address at the ordering process. My correct e-mail: (edited)
Please send it to me again, if it’s possible.
Here are the data’s of the invoice:
