  1. Hello.

The “Multilingual CMS Lifetime” license says UNLIMITED websites.

Are there any limitations – e.g. which websites exactly are allowed? Should they be owned by a particular entity or the buyer or who?

I’m making websites for: a) me b) my clients c) non-profits d) commercial organizations where my friends work, but I help them for free. So am I eligible to use the same license for all of them?

The primary purchase will be for plecho.com.ua, but I want to make sure we’ll be able to use it in many more websites.

    Many thanks,
    Anton

    • Hi Anton, yes, you can buy only one WPML license and use it for all the sites you are building. Doesn’t matter if they are for your friends or customers. But you are not allowed to include WPML when you sell your themes in theme stocks like Theme Forest for example.

  2. I made the purchase. Got a do not reply email with my invoice. However, there are no instructions on where to download. I discovered that it can be downloaded on the wpml.org page by logging into my account. Question. What is my account name and password? No email content has that info. I’ve tried my wordpress login. Was denied and had to wait 20 minutes before trying again. Typed in my email address. It denied that as well. I’m frustrated before even trying your pluggin out.

  3. I am concerned about how Arabic menu items will work on a site with English and Spanish, meaning Arabic is Right to Left and the rest are not. How is this handled normally?

    thanks
    gary

    • Hi there, what is your question? Do you have any problems to set this? If so, please contact our WPML support forum. If this is however a pre-sales question, could you please reword it for me to understand. Thank you.

  4. Hi,

is it possible to somehow test the product to get a “look and feel” of it and see whether it fits our (i.e. our customer’s) needs before making the decision to buy it or not?

    • Hi,
thank you for your interest in WPML and your question.
We don’t provide access to test version in its pure form but we are also the authors of Toolset pugins. And some of our Toolset demo sites (which are available for free) use WPML.
      Please go here:
      http://discover-wp.com/

      and choose one of these:
      Bootstrap Real Estate
      Bootstrap Commerce

they use WPML. This way you will be able to see WPML in action.

    • Hi Johannes, thanks for your question. It depends.
If you are a WordPress developers and build sites for your customers, yes, you need to buy only one license and use it for all your sites. Either CMS version or Lifetime. CMS version will expired after the first year whereas lifetime wont’.
If you want to sell your themes on theme stocks, the rules are different. Theme authors can now include a WPML installer screen from within their theme. This makes it easier for their clients to install our plugins and also can help them (the authors) earn a bit of money. More information can be found here – http://wpml.org/documentation/support/embedded-installer-authors/

  5. Hi, i need this plugin for several projects that are sold to customers. do i need the Multilingual CMS Lifetime? is this for this purpose?

  6. Hey,

i am thinking about to buy your wmpl plugin, but i have a question before. What happens when im not renew the subscription after a year ? will i be forced to renew it or it doesn’t work anymore the plugin ?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english.

    • Hey,
no it will not stop working. It is only your WPML account which will expire. Your WPML plugin lives a separate life in your WordPress.

You need a valid account to download WPML and get our support. Without a valid account, any WPML version that you already downloaded will continue to work normally in your sites. Nothing will stop working. Please note that a valid account is required to download any WPML version. Without a valid account, you cannot access our downloads section.

  7. Hi,

we are running this site (http://hireemiratis.com/) both English and Arabic.
we used the free WordPress plugin Transposh for translation
    (https://wordpress.org/plugins/transposh-translation-filter-for-wordpress/)

The problem we facing in Arabic version, when we applying job, posting job, posting resume registration or login if anything goes wrong that is if we miss any fields or wrong username passwords, after the submission the site goes to English version automatically.

any URL that contains (wp-login.php?) is not translating to Arabic?

these are some example pages not translating to Arabic.

can we fix that problem with wpml plugin? we want make sure this plugin will make a perfect bilingual site?

    Thanks,
    Rajkumar.

    • Hi Rajkumar, WPML works differently than Transposh WordPress Translation. First of all WPML deosn’t translate your content automatically. You provide the translations. In WPML settings your can chose the default language of your admin for each user independently and also interdependently from your front-end language. But you log in to your WP dashboard as to any other WordPress account.

        • Hi again,
it is possible to create a login page for each language but more custom work is required. The general steps would be as follow:
You should create your custom template file for a page and assigned it to your regular page. If all the custom strings contained in that page are coded using gettext functions (__ or _e etc) they will appear in appropriate language. You can use this filter to force your WP to use your custom page to login instead of the standard login page http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_login_url

It is recommended to use get_permalink(your_page_id) in your filter instead of hardcoding the page URL. This way WPML will use the URL in appropriate language.

As you can see these are very technical instructions so it would be better to raise this issue in our WPML support forum once you have bought WPML. But the general answer is: yes, this is possible.

            • I would recommend CMS versoin. It includes all WPML modules, especially String translation module which is needed for handling translation of different strings. Blog version is enough only for small site, blog especially.

  8. We have a wp theme that was coded by psd2html.com for us and it includes your wpml plugin. It is already ready to be updated, but we don’t have the purchase code, so the coder says we need to purchase it and get a new purchase code. If we purchase it for our client will it be transferrable to them or will they have the same problem?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    • Hi Kevin, your WPML site will work without this code. You need to purchase a WPML subscription to get access to support forum and updates. You are the owner of the WPML subscription and you shouldn’t share it with anybody else. It will allow you to install WPML on different sites for different customers. So if your WPML site was already registered with a code purchased with another company and you don’t need to upgrade it or contact our support forum is it ok to use WPML. But if you would you like to be able to make updates automatically, yes, you will need to register it again with your code.

      • Thanks Agnes,

So does that mean my client should be able to update the plugin without having to repurchase the plugin? I want to update the plugin before I send the theme to my client but I get this message:

“You need to have a valid subscription in order to get upgrades or support for this plugin”

        • Hi Kevin, I’m not sure if we have the same in mind. Let me explain the general rules and I hope it will let answer all of your questions.
          1. You need a valid account to download WPML.
          2. Once you have a WPML plugin downloaded you can use it for whatever you want to do because it is based on GPL license (but you cannot resell it and include in themes sold at theme stocks). It also means that you can install it on multiple sites.
          3. Without a valid account, any WPML version that you already downloaded will continue to work normally in your sites. Please note that a valid account is required to download any WPML version. Without a valid account, you cannot access our downloads section.
So if you build a site with WPML plugin for your customer, he/she doesn’t have to purchase it. It’s enough that you purchased it.
          Does this help?

  9. I wasn’t sure if you saw my question earlier.

  10. 2 Quick questions .

I am planning for the Multilingual CMS Lifetime . Wondering if you will run any black friday offers .

How does the translation work ? Do we translate every word manually or the plugin takes care of it automatically (To be specific , Arabic language)

    Thank you

    • Hi Assam,
thanks for your interest in WPML and your questions.
No, we don’t plan any offers like these, more details here:
      https://toolset.com/2014/11/black-friday-cyber-monday-sorry-playing/

WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically.
WPML provides you an interface allowing to translate all your WordPress elements: posts, pages, menus, tags, categories, custom post types, custom fields, different strings etc. So WPML makes you WordPress site multilingual but doesn’t translate your contents. To translate your texts you have to possibilities:
      1. To provide the translations yourself
      2. To send a post/page to our professional translators from ICanLocalize service. This is integrated with WPML so you can do this directly from your WordPress admin and you also receive it directly to your WordPress.
Here you will see a video how it works:
      http://www.icanlocalize.com/site/services/wordpress-translation/

      • Thank you for your reply .

I really support your commitment on the price .

Well That brings up another question . What if i buy the Multilingual CMS and wish to upgrade to a lifetime plan , Will that be like a new plan or i can pay the difference ?

        Thanks again .

  11. Dear Management,

I wanted to buy a WPML Multilingual blog from you, but I made a mistake.
I’ve wrote an incorrect e-mail address, so I can’t receive your e-mail with my account.
I’ve already wrote to this e-mail: (data edited)

  12. I have made a mistake in my email address when purchasing the multi-language version. So I have paid for the product but I didn’t get the email, I have no account and I can not download the product.

I was hoping that if I create the erroneous domain name and redirect it to an existing email adress I will finally get this email. But although the adress I gave at first time is now up and working, I still don’t receive the email. The change password method neither works, as if the email address is in a blocked status.

    Please help me !

  13. Hi I had a subscription for your module for 2 years and this year I did not received an notification to renew it. Now the account is no more active and I can only buy the product at full price. Is there a way to use the upgrade price?

    • Hi Daniel,
yes, we send reminders 30 days and 3 days before expiration. Sometimes, rarely, spam filters interfere. Let us check your case in our system. Did you use the same email for WPML account as the one you posted this comment with?

  14. Hi,

i’m wondering about upward compatibility issues regarding upcoming wordpress core updates. Let say i purchased the multilingual cms package in which included only one year updates with the option of a renewal each year. What happen when i decline the renewal at the end of the year, is to loose actually access to downloads and so to upcoming updates. In other words i’m asking if can i work with an older version of the wpml plugin installed in a wordpress installation updated to the latest core version. Will the plugin still working even in the case of many upcoming wordpress core updates in long term or should i buy the full package instead.

    Cheers,
    Akis

    • Hi,
thanks for your question. You need a valid account to download WPML and get our support. Without a valid account, any WPML version that you already downloaded will continue to work normally in your sites. Nothing will stop working. Of course we cannot predict how WPML will behave with a new WP version. Our team always test WPML with upcoming WP release in advance to keep it compatible but for this you should have access to new WPML releases as well. You don’t have to buy LifeTime license now. You can buy the CMS version and upgrade to LifeTime later, paying only the difference. You will find appropriate links in your WPML account.

  15. Hi there,

Really interested in buying the Multilingual CMS Lifetime package. This is so I can download the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin and connect to my existing WooCommerce store.

    http://www.shufflerun.com/shop

I know buying the above allows me to show specific currencies on certain languages and distinct prices can be set at a product level. http://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/multi-currency-support-woocommerce/

I’m really interested to know if this can work with the product retailers extension by WooCommerce. http://www.woothemes.com/products/product-retailers/

For instance, I’m an affiliate of three international Amazon programs; USA, UK and Canada, purchases can only be made by residents of that country. I would like the UK amazon retailer to always show price in £, the US amazon retailer to only show price in USD etc. As Amazon’s pricing differs greatly across these three sites, I would like to be able to configure these at the product level.

Secondly, is it possible that retailers can only be shown in certain languages? e.g. Visitors from USA are the only ones who can see the USA Amazon retailer?

Ultimately my goal is to make sure that visitors are served the most relevant retailers based on their country and currency.

Lastly I can see the price of the WPML CMS but how much are the below which are required to run the WooCommerce multilingual plugin?

WPML String Translation 2.0 or above
WPML Translation Management 1.9 or above
WPML Media Translation 2.1 or above

    Many thanks

    Rob

    • Hi Robert, here is the set of plugin required to handle your multilingual wooCommerce store:

      http://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/#1

Here is an example site built with WPML and WooCommerce (you didn’t ask but I thought it would be useful to see it)
      http://wpml.org/showcase/mayanboutique-com/

      Coming back to your question.
We don’t have compatibility information about this particular extension. This simply means that it wasn’t tested by our team but it might work. We just don’t know.
WooCommerce Multilingual doesn’t have geotargetting (yet) but in terms of showing different exclusive prices for different languages this is possible. You need to create different translations for a product, set distinct prices (for each retailer) and then lock each currency to a specific language.

Here’s a wooCommerce Multilingual demo showing currency switcher (again, you didn’t ask but I thought it would be useful to see it in action)
      http://wc-emw.wpml.org/product/fashion-secrets/

You cannot hide some languages based on the user’s location. WPML only can detect your visitor language based on the setting of his/her browser. And the WPML can redirect the visitor accordingly.

  16. Hello. I´ve just started to maintain a web from another admin. I´ve upgraded to WP 4.0.1 and see that WPML doesn´t work anymore. I´ve seen that there is a new commercial plugin for this version, mine is 3.0.1. How should I proceed? I understand I must purchase commercial version, ok that´s not a problem, but then? Shoud I copy rhe new version over the old one and that´s all? Thanks in advance.

    • Hi there. Thanks for your question. WPML is a commercial plugin and you new a valid WPML account to upgrade to the latest version. To make this happen, please go here: http://wpml.org/purchase/ and buy the version you wish. There are a few ways to upgrade. For example you can follow these instructions: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/upgrade-4/ or you can use these instructions:
http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/ but you can also overwrite the files via ftp. But it would be best to ask our technical experts asking a question in the support forum. Once your WPML account is active you will get access to support forum as well.

  17. Hi, with the translating management system, are we able to set up our own users as translators and send them jobs to complete instead of using one of yours?

  18. I made the purchase. I think I have written a wrong email adress and I not received my Login dates. Can you please sent me the needed Dates to my right email adress

  19. Hi there

I would like to upgrade and purchase the new version if I can be sure that your new version is working with optimizepress as my current version of 2.9.3 of WPML is not.

Your prompt response will be greatly appreciated.

  20. Hello there,

I’m building a site for a client who is now requesting an Italian version as well as English.

My question: is it possible to edit the translated text. I’m a little concerned that the translation may not be the same as my Clients copy.

    Many thanks,

    Damien

    • Hi Damien,
thank you for you question and interest in WPML.

Why we don’t support machine translations:
      http://wpml.org/faq/does-wpml-support-machine-translation/

  21. Hi,
We are looking for a plugin to translate a page for us.

The two requirements I need to know about,
-does WPML support Maori? Tongan? Samoan?
-alot of our content is in custom fields does WPML change this too?

    Thanks
    Mike

  22. Hi,

When I log into my account it says – “Your WPML account has expired, so you cannot download new versions or access our support.

You can buy a new account, or save by upgrading to a Lifetime account at a reduced rate.
Upgrade to a Lifetime account ($116.00 instead of $195.00). Buy the Multilingual CMS again ($79.00).”

It doesn’t, however, give me the option for the $39 annual renewal?

We have just upgraded to the latest WordPress version (4x) and want to upgrade to the latest WPML plugin.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    • Hi Amit,
you must have missed your renewal date. Didn’t you get any notifications? We send notifications 30 days and 3 days before expiration. Sometimes, rarely, spam filters interfere. Please check your spam folder and let me know if you missed it indeed.
