However the comment suggest that the required WP All importPlugin either does not work or support for it is discontinued.
Should I, Or should I not follow the procedure described in the above link in order to import products in various languages without adding translations manually?
This comment is relatively new and posted by a guy from our team who is up to date so he seems to be a reliable person here. So the answer is: no, it is no longer recommended to use this procedure. You can also ask our support forum experts how to deal with importing posts. If WPML doesn’t satisfy your needs, we have a refund program. From what I know currently there is no other plugin in the WP market which allows you to handle multilingual store done with WooCommerce.
Hi Santiago,
we are the only makes and distributors of WPML. There is no other way to purchase WPML legally than using our wpml.org site. Our company (OnTheGo Systems) is the only legal owner of the registered trademark WPML name and logo. So, answering your question: to get a legal copy of WPML, upgrades and support you should buy a subscription through our site.
The site is 2 language, the main is german and it is applied to everyone who lives in germany but the site has to switch to english when somebody visits the site outside the germany, from everywhere else. Can it be done via wpml?
Yes, best solution is to insert a language switcher and make it to stand out. You can also use automatic redirections (you will find a relevant option to enable this in WPM settings).
This site says that this theme is WPML compatible. So activate your theme, install WPML and configure it. Then add your posts/pages in different languages. If you have questions how to translate other elements, you can ask for help our support forum.
I am in charge of implementing a multilingual WooCommerce store in order to sell HR Services in Spain and France (no shipping fees). The Spanish website is called: proevolua.com
According to your thread, it is an issue related to the WPML version installed:
> I have a beta version (don’t know where it comes from as it was already installed when I started to work on this project).
I’ve understood I must upgrade to version 3.1.5 or a most recent version in order to solve the problem I have with total orders calculation in French checkout.
I told my client about this issue and I convinced him that French store will be operational in the next days if he invests in the latest version of your plugin.
> Is the Economic solution (you sell for 29 USD) the good version to tackle the issue?
> Is it possible to buy this economic pack first and check if it works.
If NOK I mean if the issue with French Checkout total = 0 is still not solved with the economic solution, will it be possible to upgrade to get the complete solution for multilingual websites paying the difference (79 – 29 USD)?
Hi Florent, you need the Multilingual CMS version to handle WooCommerce issues. Please note that you can use one WPML license for all the sites you are building so purchasing the plugin might be a good investment for all your projects.
I have already installed and activated Version 3.4.3 of Woocommerce Multilingual + I have Version 3.1.5b2 of the WPML CMS Multilingual but I still have the issue with French Store.
If I purchase the economic Pack of WPML, Will I solve Total = 0 issue on French Ckeck out?
Hello. Do you have a sales POC that we can get in touch with to discuss purchase requests?
As a federal entity, we cannot use credit cards through a third party and will instead need to put our purchasing and contracting division in touch with someone that can support our Multilingual CMS Lifetime purchase.
We are in a process of building a multilingual site and we have already installed a language plugin. The default language is English and we have professionally translated the site into two other ones (so far) and have manually uploaded the translated pages.
1. Is there any way to automatically transfer the current translation to your plugin or we have to upload everything manually again?
2. Is there an easy way to translate the Navigation Menu or this will involve wring a code. (One of our problems with the current language plugin.)
3. Can we easily assign a flag menu, visitors can choose their language from, at the top of the page without them having to choose their language again and again for every new page they want to view. (This is another problem we have with the current plugin.)
Hi Pett,
thank you for your questions and your interest in WPML.
1. I cannot provide you a direct answer. If your current plugin is qTranslate we created a plugin to easy import to WPML. http://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/qtranslate-importer/
If your plugin is different, there is no automatic tool and switching to WPML will depends on the way how your current posts/pages were stored. WPML stores each translation as a separate post and keeps track which post is a translation for which one. So there is a chance that you will not have to insert all your post anew but for sure you will have to make the associations. You can ask our support expert for more technical help.
2. Yes, it is super easy and can be done automatically (for your further customization if needed)
3. Yes, we call it a language switcher. You can insert it with a few click to your sidebar and/or your footer. If you want to put it in your header, you will have to add a line of PHP code – our supporters can help you here as well.
You can try but I cannot give you any warranty that they won’t be any conflicts between them.
If would be best to try our WPML in a test version of your site. Our supporters can instruct you how you can do this using a Duplicator plugin.
Hi Pett,
yes, you need to have WooCommerce installed to deal with your product sales online.
This is an example site built with WooCommerce and WPML by one of our customer: https://www.eremdesign.com/
I’ve been unwell and I didn’t notice your renewal reminders among the endless notifications from everyone else. Now I feel like I’m being punished for being just a few days late with my renewal.
Really used to love your product but now have been left with a bitter taste. I don’t think this is a good way to manage customer relationships. It’s just mean-spirited, and I’m at a loss to think of any other software vendor that I deal with who is quite so vicious.
To make matters worse, when I first tried to contact you, I replied to the email you had sent me. I didn’t realise it was from noreply@ because the “friendly name” (WPML Updates) is all that shows in my email program. So as the days wore on, I became more and more disgruntled that you hadn’t replied. If you’re going to use a noreply address, it might be helpful if you change the “friendly name” to the noreply address so it is obvious to people when they attempt to reply, that they are sending their email to oblivion.
Hi
Im considering using your plugin for the multilanguage part fo my sites.
The situation is that, i have 3 different sites hosted on 3 different domains and has nothing to do with each other.
The license, would it be 3xtimes the license or just one i can use on all 3 sites?
WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically. It only provides an interface for inserting multilingual content. You provide the translations yourself or you can send it to our professional translators.
so the flag will be available.
Once your WPML plugin is installed you will be able to add translations to your posts/pages etc which means that you clear a new posts/pages in a language chosen but you need to insert the translated content yourself (or use our professional translation service which is integrated but paid).
It is strongly recommended to use WPML with the lastes WP version. I cannot say how our current WPML version will behave with WP 3.3.1.
>Would it be possible to get a ruff figure for say 250 pages
Are you asking about the price for professional translation? If so, please ask our iCanLocalize service. They have a live chat: http://www.icanlocalize.com/site/
We are looking for a multi-language plugin for a client site. We currently use Types (https://toolset.com/home/types-manage-post-types-taxonomy-and-custom-fields/) for Custom Post Types, taxonomies and fields. Will WPML work with this plugin? We’ve tried several other multi-language plugins and they add additional tabs for some fields but not the custom fields we add to our sites.
Hello,`I bought wpml today but it is impossible to download: the password doesn’t work and when I try to reset a new one an internet page says : “safari can’t open the required page”.
My transaction number is wc_order_54c76747cfb4a.
Thanks to help me
Hi there, I am intending to buy the WPML plugin. I am using WooCommerce 2.2.10 with WP 4.1. For Payments I am using Paymill and PayPal.
I have a German site (i.e. one language only) for Switzerland. I want to sell my products in Swiss Francs. Yet, my Swiss Franc prices will vary on the exchange rate between Euro and Swiss Franc, where Euro prices will stay constant and Exchange Rate to Swiss Franc will vary.
Hi Robert,
The version 3.2 of WooCommerce Multilignual includes also the option to set custom prices in different currencies. These will be fixed and will override the prices automatically determined by the exchange rate.
Hi Agnes, I have seen this page. But, is this possible:
– one language, two currencies ?
– set fixed exchange rate instead of automatic exchange rate ?
– set EUR as main currency to calculate CHF, but receive money in CHF ?
Hi Robert, you mean if we allow to have products in a secondary language without requiring a version in the default language? If so, I know that our developers were working on this. Let me check with them if this was already released.
So after a consultation with our WooCommerce Multilingual developers:
1. yes
2. yes
3. this is not clear for us, could you please elaborate on this? Or give us an example?
I am on the board for a non-profit educational foundation and I have been researching WP themes to rebuild our foundations website. We’d love to use WPML plugin to help us reach all our parents in our district.
Do you offer reduced prices for non-profits or educational foundations?
Hi Ari, WPML lets you add your language switcher (with flag icons or without) and your visitors will be able to switch the language using it. WPML doesn’t translate the content automatically, you provide the translations.
Now about Logo. Do you have a logo as an image with an additional text which also need to be translated? And now you would like to ask if this is possible with WPML? I’m sorry I’m not sure if I understand your problem.
Looking to purchase for a client who runs a WooCommerce store and I just wanted to clarify one thing.
Does WPML + the Woo ‘glue’ plugin mean that the client can *charge* in multiple currencies, or would they still be charging in GBP while having prices displayed in different currencies?
Hi David, WooCommerce Multilingual allows you to play with currencies in different ways depending on the settings you chose. Please read this doc to find out about the possibilities.
Hi,
I have tried to purchase an upgrade to the following
Upgrade to Multilingual CMS – $50.00
However, when I tried to place order, the screen went “grey” and never came back. I wasn’t able to place order. Please advise how to complete the order at this moment.
HI there,
do I get it right? You mean currency switcher not a language switcher. If so, you want to create a multilingual store, don’t you? If so, you definitely need the Multilingual CMS version.
Sorry, I should have clarified that we’re using Woocommerce.
For now I simply need the Currency switcher to enable users to checkout in the currency of their choosing. We’ll not be translating the site at this point.
i develop websites for multiple clients. On one project we nee to make a worpdress installation have multilanguage support. If i purchase Multilingual CMS Lifetime can we then also deploy the latest WPML on other projects / websites with support, updates and no renewals etc. ?
I noticed that the theme I’m using is not listed in supported themes. I’m using the “litemag” theme from bluthemes.com (actually I’ve created a child theme from it). Can you telll me if I’m going to run into any major problems getting WPML working with this theme.
Hi Robyn, you shouldn’t run into any major issues, depends on your theme’s custom options. Generally speaking every theme that uses WordPress API runs multilingual with WPML.
You will be able to translate your posts, pages, categories, tags, menus, images, custom posts and taxonomies, even custom fields irrespective of a theme chosen.
But currently the themes offered in the WP marker are more and more sophisticated and offer more and more custom options. These to be translated require the presence of so called wpml config file. http://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/
Some developers can create this file themselves, while for others it is a challenge. This is why we ask theme authors for their help here. When a theme author provides his/her theme with such a file your works is easy – all the theme depended strings will appear in our String translation module.
If this the case, you will find this theme in our compatibility list.
What should work without any problems even if your theme is not announced as WPML fully compatible. You will still be able to translate:
posts, pages, menus, tags, categories, custom post types, custom fields, taxonomies, different strings etc.
Difficult to answer. From what I know both plugins store translations in a similar way, so probably for posts and pages you will not have to insert the content again. But maybe you will have to set the matches anew: which post is a translation of which one.
Hi Pablo,
1) yes, but you need to purchase the CMS or Lifetime subscription (only these ones have the String translation module which you will need)
2) yes, you need to buy only one license and you can use it for all the sites you are building for yourself or/and your customers.
Hello Agnes,
Thanks for your reply.
I search my theme at http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/ … and i couldn’t find it … before buying your plugin i need to be 100% secure that “WPML” will translate “all my theme strings” … as i told you, “Polylang” translated only some of them …
Thanks,
Pablo
Hi Pablo, if your theme strings we coded with so called gettext functions and the theme author followed the good programming practices (used WordPress APIs), they should appear in the String translations panel. Have a look at my presentation about common mistakes. You will find more details in slide 15 and 16.
Another tricky part are theme dependent strings. Usually they appear in theme options panel. If you have such strings in your theme it requires a presence of so called WPML config file. You can read more here: http://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/
So, to sum up. I cannot give you 100% warranty that WPML will handle all your strings. It depends on the theme you are using. WPML is ready to handle all of them but the final effect depends on your specific theme.
1) Sorry, our compatibility team tests theme only with cooperation with a theme author. If something doesn’t work we ask him/her to fix errors.
2) Yes, 100% money back but you must ask for a refund within 30 days.
Steven, we didn’t find any records in our system with you email address (the one you posted your comment with). Maybe you purchased your substitution with a different one?
Hi Steven,
let us check it again then. But the email @wordpress… is exactly the same as the one we already checked. Let us search your records using transaction ID.
Hi Steven, we checked your case and our records show that your subscriptoin expired on October 3, 2013. We can help if a user missed his renewal and was late for a few days or two weeks but we cannot help if the break was over one year. It would be unfair for all these who were in similar situation and purchased their subscriptions anew.
I don’t agree. Because this is what happened to me also. I forgot to renew, and found out after a few days. But then I didn’t renew because I didn’t think it was fair to pay the subscription again. So I forgot all about it untill now. And that’s why I asked you politly after a while to help me.
If you’d wanted to help, me you would I guess. Because I’ve red many times in this forum that you said something like “I’ve sent you a message directly”. You could have done that for me too. But I figure you just don’t WANT to help..
I think it would be better just to say I don’t want to help, instead of referring to how “unfair” it would be to others. Because now it’s just unfair to me and I don’t feel WPML is very customer friendly.
I d like to build a multilingual woocommerce store and import products in 3 languages. This article suggests that it would work using your plugins

Hi WPML Team,
A quick question, I’m WP developer from Malaysia, our country have 3 major language which is English, Chinese & Malay(Bahasa Malaysia/ Bahasa Melayu).
I believe that WPML support English & Chinese but how about Malay?
Please advice.
Thanks ;D
Regards,
MK
Hi MK, thanks for you question. When you install WPML, you get over 60 pre-configured languages, ready to use.
http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/pre-configured-languages/
But You can edit this table (via WPML’s GUI) to add your own custom languages:
http://wpml.org/documentation/support/editing-wpmls-languages-table/
Please note that WPML does’t translate your content automatically.
Hello. Do you have a sales POC that we can get in touch with to discuss purchase requests?
As a federal entity, we cannot use credit cards through a third party and will instead need to put our purchasing and contracting division in touch with someone that can support our Multilingual CMS Lifetime purchase.
Any assistance you can provide would be awesome!

Hello. Let me check what we can do in your case. I will keep you posted.
Hi,
I have a couple of questions before I buy.

Thanks a lot, Agnes!
… and one more question.
Would it be okay if we run both language plugins alongside until we transfer everything to yours?
Thank you!
You can try but I cannot give you any warranty that they won’t be any conflicts between them.
If would be best to try our WPML in a test version of your site. Our supporters can instruct you how you can do this using a Duplicator plugin.
Thanks again!
I have yet another question.
Please, give me an example of “Multilingual E-Commerce Support”.
Does it relate only to WooCommerce?
Many thanks!
Hi Pett,
yes, you need to have WooCommerce installed to deal with your product sales online.
This is an example site built with WooCommerce and WPML by one of our customer:
https://www.eremdesign.com/
and another example:
https://www.mayanboutique.com/en/
To build a multi language woocommerce shop for your customer you will need this set of plugins:

I’ve been unwell and I didn’t notice your renewal reminders among the endless notifications from everyone else. Now I feel like I’m being punished for being just a few days late with my renewal.

Hi
Im considering using your plugin for the multilanguage part fo my sites.

Yes, you can. You need to buy only one license and you can use it for all the sites you are building, even if they are set up with different domains.
Hi Guys does the plugin have drop down for welsh? I can see loads of other countries but nothing on welsh.
Would it automatically convert the English into Welsh?
Thanks Kev
WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically. It only provides an interface for inserting multilingual content. You provide the translations yourself or you can send it to our professional translators.
Hi Agnes, thanks for the update so there is a flag for welsh? But we would need to translate the copy?
Will the plugin sit on a version of wp at 3.3.1?
Would it be possible to get a ruff figure for say 250 pages?
Hi Agnes, thanks for the update so there is a flag for welsh? But we would need to translate the copy?

Hi Kev,
yes, Welsh is included in our pre-configured language list:
http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/pre-configured-languages/
so the flag will be available.
Once your WPML plugin is installed you will be able to add translations to your posts/pages etc which means that you clear a new posts/pages in a language chosen but you need to insert the translated content yourself (or use our professional translation service which is integrated but paid).

Are you asking about the price for professional translation? If so, please ask our iCanLocalize service. They have a live chat:

We are looking for a multi-language plugin for a client site. We currently use Types (https://toolset.com/home/types-manage-post-types-taxonomy-and-custom-fields/) for Custom Post Types, taxonomies and fields. Will WPML work with this plugin? We’ve tried several other multi-language plugins and they add additional tabs for some fields but not the custom fields we add to our sites.
Hi Keith, probably it will be a surprise for you but we are the authors of the Types plugin 🙂
So it is fully compatible with WPML.

Hi,
we’re looking to purchase WPML for a site, however, it’s not clear which version is required in order to utilise the currency switcher.
Does the blog version cover this or would we need to purchase the cms version?
Thanks
HI there,
do I get it right? You mean currency switcher not a language switcher. If so, you want to create a multilingual store, don’t you? If so, you definitely need the Multilingual CMS version.
Sorry, I should have clarified that we’re using Woocommerce.
For now I simply need the Currency switcher to enable users to checkout in the currency of their choosing. We’ll not be translating the site at this point.
WooCommerce Multilingual provides you a whole interface to store your products in different languages. To build a multi language woocommerce shop for your customer you will need this set of plugins:
http://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/#1
If your need if different however – you only need to provide the checkout in different currencies WooCommerce Multilingual is not the best choice.
Dear WPML,
i develop websites for multiple clients. On one project we nee to make a worpdress installation have multilanguage support. If i purchase Multilingual CMS Lifetime can we then also deploy the latest WPML on other projects / websites with support, updates and no renewals etc. ?
With kind regards,
Ruben
Yes, that’s right. You just need to buy one WPML license and you can handles all the sites with it.
I noticed that the theme I’m using is not listed in supported themes. I’m using the “litemag” theme from bluthemes.com (actually I’ve created a child theme from it). Can you telll me if I’m going to run into any major problems getting WPML working with this theme.
Thanks in advance.
Hello, the $29 version work if i need the next modules:
WPML, WooCommerce, WPML Translation Management, WPML String Translation and WPML Media
Hello, no, only the CMS and Lifetime subscriptions have the modules included.
Hello,
Now my website is working with “Polylang” … but this plugin is not allowing me to translate all the website strings.
My website uses the next Theme:
http://demo.mythemeshop.com/sociallyviral
I need you tell me:
1) if your plugin would allow me to translate all the strings (i don’t know if this theme and your plugin are compatibles)
2) If i buy your plugin, can i use it for unlimited websites (different worpress websites) ?
Thanks,
Pablo
3) Also i want to know if it is possible and easy to transfer my website from “Polylang” to “wpml”
Difficult to answer. From what I know both plugins store translations in a similar way, so probably for posts and pages you will not have to insert the content again. But maybe you will have to set the matches anew: which post is a translation of which one.
Also these tips have help:

Hi Pablo,
1) yes, but you need to purchase the CMS or Lifetime subscription (only these ones have the String translation module which you will need)
Agnes, thanks for your reply.
1) I am a simple customer. I don’t know about this theme, about its code. I bought it.
Can you test it if i send it to you?
2) I read your “Refunds Policy” … can i buy it and if it won’t work ask for the 100% money back?
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Pablo
1) Sorry, our compatibility team tests theme only with cooperation with a theme author. If something doesn’t work we ask him/her to fix errors.
2) Yes, 100% money back but you must ask for a refund within 30 days.
Hello,
I wrote a message here 1-2 hours ago, but it dissapeared.
I need an urgente reply to decide if i will buy “wpml”
Thanks,
Pablo
Hi Pablo, hi again. It was waiting for moderation. I just replied it. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with.
Hello,
I would like to ask you guys for a favour.
I had purchased WPML before but forgot all about renewing. 🙁
If I promise to never forget again and renew my licence from now on, could I please renew now as wel instead of having to buy for the regular price?
Please let me know if you are willing to do this for me 🙂
Kindest regards,
Steven
Hi Steven,
let us check your case in our system first and we will see what we can do for you.
Hi Agnes,
Awesome! Looking forward hearing from you.
Kindest regards,
Steven
Steven, we didn’t find any records in our system with you email address (the one you posted your comment with). Maybe you purchased your substitution with a different one?
Hi Agnes,
Yes i changed my e-mail address n my account of WPML. My username is Swijngaarde and the transaction ID was: [edited]. My E-mail was [edited].
Hi Steven,
let us check it again then.
Dear Agnes,
I don’t agree.
