Does WPML handle different section headings in WordPress themes? In particular, I noticed that WPML is compatible with the AVADA. Does that mean it can somehow translate the different section headings – say for example; “Project Description” which is part of the single portfolio page?
Hello I am interested in buying plugin. I have questions about renewal. If I will buy plugin for 79$ and after one year I will not renew it, it will stop working ? Or i will just be unable to download updates ?
Hi, even if you don’t renew your WPML subscription, the WPML plugins you have installed and downloaded won’t stop working. However we cannot predict how they will work with future WordPress core releases. And you will not be able to use our support forum.
Hello WPML team your product looks good and i think it could fit our needs though i have some questions about it. We got a translation team that is relatively inexperienced computer users and my WP pages contain special html tags like photos an formatting tags.Is there a way to ensure that those translators would not be able to change those very tags and only the actual text? Thanks in advance.
Hi Alex. Your questions comes down to another one: “will this team manage to publish a WordPress post/page without any problems?” If so, they will be fine with translations as well because adding a translation with WPML interface is just posting your post in another language.
We are using Woocommerce and WP ALL IMPORT plugin for XML product import. Our suppliers sends more than one currency (USD, TRY, EUR) in their product data XML feed. Is it possible to import multi currency data if we use your WooCommerce Multilingual product. We need to import and create some products price in USD, some in EUR and others in TRY currency. Our base currency is TRY for payments and if those products are in the same basket than checkout must be in TRY for all products. We need to clear this issue and be sure before buying your plugin.
Hello, sorry but this is not possible now.
If you still want to test WPML and the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin possibilities, please consider buying it for 30 days. You can ask for refund if you are not satisfied.
Hi,
if I am having my website done by a third party developer, who needs to buy WPML and why?
Secondly, if I plan develop websites, I will build using WPML but then I sell the page and it’s not my property nor under my supervision. Is that alright then or how does this work from legal point?
Thanks in advance for your answer.
Regards,
Ryszard
Hey Ryszard,
if you buy WPML you will be able to use it for all the sites you are building for all your customers. Your customers can use this plugin since this is GPL-based but only the license owner can access our support forum and future releases. But if you register WPML on your customer’s site, they will be also able to access future releases automatically (by pressing one button). But in order to have access to future releases you need to have a valid WPML subscription. If you buy the Lifetime it will work forever. For the CMS/Blog, you will have to upgrade after one year. You can upgrade to Lifetime from CSM by paying the difference (this will be possible from your WPLM account30 days before your yearly license expires)
I’m having my website done by third party developer who uses WPML – who is in charge of buying WPML so that the site is legaly mine?
Secondly, we are planning to provide translations for our clients using WPML, is it enough if we purchase the WPML unlimited or do our clients need to have it? How does the legal part work here?
Hi Ryszard, thanks for your questions.
WPML is based on the GPL license so even if it was bought by a third part developer you can use it legally on your site. But only the owner of a WPML subscription has access to the WPML support forum. Another issue are future upgrades. If Lifetime subscription was used and WPML was registered on your site, don’t worry you will access the automatic updates forever even if you are not the owner of the WPML subscription.
Hello, I am wondering if your plugin will allow me to do what I need for a client of mine. My client is in Canada and we need three language versions of his website.
1) Canada / English
2) Canada / French
3) USA / English
Will your software allow a user to choose which of the 3 above versions he/she would like to see?
Hi,
I am considering buying your plugin for one year for 79$, but I might have more clients coming in to use this plugin. Can I later upgrade for the lifetime pack, paying just the diference in price or do I need to buy it all over again?
Hey,
yes, you can upgrade to Lifetime after the first year and pay the difference only. This will be possible from your WPML account 30 days before your current subscription expires. YOu can use one WPML license (Blog/CMS/Lifetime) for all the sites you are building for all your customers.
Hey Maria, I’m sorry but you must have missed your renewal date. Please log into your WPML account and check the options you have available now. For our customers who missed the renewal date we are offering upgrading to Lifetime at a reduced price.
Hi, I am considering buying your plugin for a couple of websites of clients of mine.
Can I use this in any site?
And if I buy the 79$ for one year and later decide to buy the lifetime, do I have to pay the full amount or just the diference? How is yous politics on upgrading the package?
Tanks
Hello! I’ve been using your product and I my support ended. In the purchase shows that the Account renewal per year is likely 39$. However, choosing this option I have not found how to. My Account e-mail (edited) and name (edited). Thank you!
Hey, if you missed your renewal date you won’t be able to upgrade at the reduced price. But for our customers who missed the renewal date we are offering upgrading to Lifetime at a reduced price. Please log into your WPML account and check the options available. I will also ask our admins to check your case.
Hi, WPML doesn’t translate your text automatically. You provide the translation or your can use our ICanLocalize service which is integrated with WPML but you pay extra:
Ok thanks for that. Just to check then, what would happen for example if the website copy was translated but the blog articles were not translated?
Basically, i have a website which the first language is Finnish, it needs to be available in English and Spanish also but there will not be a translation for every blog post, just the actual web pages. So is it possible to hide certain content when selecting English or Spanish for instance?
Yes, WPML allows you to translate only some pages/posts. You decide which ones. If a post doesn’t have its translation in another language, after clicking the language switcher WPML can redirect a visitor to the homepage.
I want to translate especially the homapages of my premium themes with its options from the panel like slideshows, different texts, texts in coloumns, feature pictures, links, buttons etc. Does wpml do that?
When a theme was officially tested by our Compatibility theme it already contains such a file. If not, you can create such a file yourself if you are a developer. If not, I would recommend you to choose a theme which is WPML fully compatible:
Hi Francisco. If you have your WPML plugins already downloaded and/or installed somewhere, you can still use them. But only valid (active) WPML subscription allows you to access WPML plugins. It is also recommended to use the latest WPML version since WordPress core also changes and this is the only way to make sure that WPML is fully compatible with the recent WP release.
I have it installed somewhere but when i logged in to the wpml site it said that there is a security update for the last version i downloaded. I would like to get that. Is it possible for you guys to send me the last version i paid for?
this is now resolved and you can do the following to get the security updates:
1. login to his wpml account
2. go to the downloads page form the available links on the account page
3. click to download the security update there displayed
Note: this security update is available to all users with expired subscriptions on their downloads page.
Is ír possible to use wpml woocommerce plugin with the following purpose:
I want to set my base prices in EUR and i want to everybody show on frontend in Hungarian Forint prices. It doesn’t matter if I need to set the exchange manually.
Hello,
in some case it possible, but we have a limitation – currency should be enabled min. for 1 language.
for example if you have EUR,USD and 3 languages ( EN, FR, ES ) then you can enable USD for EN only and EUR for FR, ES
You can buy WPML and test it yourself for 30 days. If it turns out that it doesn’t satisfy your needs, we will give your money back: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
I bought WPML once upon but they never ever fixed the problem so my licence expired. I want to renew licence if the problem was fixed.
I have a website already and I have tons of content in Azerbaijan. When you install WPML it does not let me choose Azerbaijani as a source or default language as it has not been added. Support guy they it will be fixed but it was never fixed.
It is very simple to put Azerbaijani as a default. Otherwise, I can’t use it because I had to change all manually which is not possible.
Could you please tell me whether Azerbaijani is there as a default language to choose when installing?
Hello,
yes in the past there were some issues with setting the default language different than English. And yes, these issues are fixed now. I’m not sure if this is the same case you are talking about but you can purchase WPML and test it for 30 days. If there is still something wrong, we will give your money back, but you need to notify us within 30 days: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
I’m building a website for one of my clients, using the WordPress theme “Enfold”. Now we’re looking for the possibility to make the page multilangual – and by far WPML seem to be the best option. Since I am using the “Enfold layout builder”, I wonder if WPML is compatible with the latest versions of the theme & plugin.
I bought WPML 3 years ago and i never used. I would like to use it now an for that i need the new version. How can i update without paying 79$ for multingual CMS ( annual renewal is dais do tbe at 39$).
Hey,
thanks for using WPML. In this case you have two options:
1. Download 3.1.9.3 release (the current one is 3.2.2) for free – it is available in your WPML account under Downloads
2. You can upgrade to a Lifetime account at a reduced rate ($116.00 instead of $195.00)
In both cases you need to log into your WPML account first.
I am looking to purchase your plugin and I have a few questions if you do not mind answering, they may be pretty simple questions so please bear with me.
I am building a site that consists of two languages, English and Welsh, my client would like to translate the Welsh part themselves so I need to be able to have the basics in Welsh, like menus etc. can this be done?
Again sorry if it is a simple question but I couldn’t find the answer I was looking for.
Hi there,
thanks for your questions. Yes, this is exactly how WPML works. During the installation process (it is super easy, there will be a wizard helping you) you choose your languages: English and Welsh in your case. And that’s it. Then for each or your posts/pages you will see an option to translate it. You provide the translations. WPML will set the menu for you, can can adjust it manually then as well.

Hi Donald,
yes, if a theme was certified to be WPML Compatible (Avada was) it means that you will be able to translate all the elements.
Here is a list of other themes WPML compatible:

About translations. If you want to use our ICanLocalize Service (it is integrated with WPML) you will need to pay extra for this. More details here: http://www.icanlocalize.com/site/services/wordpress-translation/
The final price depends on numbers of words used in your post/page sent for translation (you receive your post/pages directly in your WordPress).
ICanLocalize people (they are a part of our company) have a live chat, so please free to ask them any questions.

I want to translate especially the homapages of my premium themes with its options from the panel like slideshows, different texts, texts in coloumns, feature pictures, links, buttons etc. Does wpml do that?
Hi Maria,
translating theme custom options is possible with WPML but for this you will need the so called wpml config file.
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/
When a theme was officially tested by our Compatibility theme it already contains such a file. If not, you can create such a file yourself if you are a developer. If not, I would recommend you to choose a theme which is WPML fully compatible:

Hi there!
The Enfold theme was officially certified to be WPML compatible.
https://wpml.org/theme/enfold/
so it means that it was tested by our Compatibility theme.

Great suggestion, thank you. I’ll get started right away.
