  3. Hi There – I just had a question about how WPML works.

    – I will need the following things translated from English to Chinese & Japanese

1 – the front end navigation – this needs to be translated
2 – a page with a list of links on it – this needs to be translated
3 – a page with a gallery – and when you click on the gallery the image name are translated

no WordPress dashboard will need to be translated.

So when I buy the plugin – do I then need to purchase translator services to translate these things?

I’m a bit confused as to how this works

    thank

    • Hi Sofia,
      thank you for contacting us.

      WPML works like this:
      1. You install it and select the languages. In your case it would be:
      a) English as the primary language
      b) Chinese and Japanese as additional lanaguges
The installation wizard will guide your through these steps, it will be easy.

      2. Then you translate your post and pages, each one individually. You can enter your translations or your can send the posts to professional translation services – they are integrated with WPML but you pay extra (depending on the number of words to translate)

      3. Once you have your posts/pages in other languages created the navigation in other languages will be created for you automatically (you can adjust it manually as well if there is such a need)

      Answering your other questions:

2 – a page with a list of links on it – this needs to be translated

It depends how it looks like. If this just a list, similar as any other content, you translate it as other regular page.

3 – a page with a gallery – and when you click on the gallery the image name are translated

You can translate images with WPML. Again, the details will depend on the solution you use. You will probably need the “Media Translation” module which is included in the CMS or Lifetime package.

  4. I just have purchased $196 service but you didn’t send me any username and password to my mail.

    • We will check your case in our system and contact you by email. I am sorry for the trouble caused to you. Sometimes our users make a typo in the email address and this is the reason why the email is not sent. We will check what happened in your case.

  5. I need to resolve these issues to see whether it is worth I buy WPML, need to know whether it is compatible with Sensei courses, I am currently using WPML Nulled for testing.

1 – Courses Sensei page when you are not logged in does not show the courses in Portuguese, only in English, and logged shows in both languages, Portuguese and English. Why?

2 – Conflict with WooCommerce Multilingual and Sensei Courses: If you purchase a course in English language, the same course in Portuguese Language does not come together. And it appears a button to buy the same course in the Portuguese language. Why?

3 – In Modules Sensei, stay Language selector individual is only for the Course Bought at Current Language, and in another language the sensei modules disappears. Why?

    • Hello,
the Sensei course plugin hasn’t been tested for WPML compatibility by our team. (By the way here is the list of WooCommerce extensions our team tested: https://wpml.org/documentation/woocommerce-extensions-compatibiity/ )

Some of our customers use this plugin with WPML but have different issues. I’m not sure what you mean by “I am currently using WPML Nulled for testing”. But if you have a WPML plugin and some issues with the Sensei course it means that probably we won’t do much for you it resolve them quickly. To make this plugin fully compatible with WPML means having the the plugin authors involved. It takes time.

I will discuss this issue with our Compatibility Team and will update you soon. I will keep you posted.

    • I contacted our Compatibility Team and there are working on this plugin now to make it 100% WPML compatible. They are almost done. I reported the issues raised by you. I will update you with more details soon.

    • Hi Georgi,
yes, you buy only one WPML subsription and you can use it on all your sites (and the site you build for your customers).

  6. I have purchased WPML Multilingual blog from you but my email id has come as [edited] when it is really [edited] I have received the confirmation of purchase message on my mail but have not received the username or password to download the product. The details of the transaction are as follows

  7. Hi Guess I’m too late but…… I had a full licensee but much too much problems. The theme developer, “Templatic” promised their theme was WPML approved, but it was not. Then WPML contacted templatic several times to get things sorted out, but since Templatic are scum bags it never was. 100 Bucks down the drain. I got an offer to get a life time WPML licensee after that (think when you switched to the new system with activating. Did not have the necessary money at that time (retired and retarded) but could it be possible too….. You know what. Don’t want to use outdated plugins on the site I’m developing now.l
    Best Ola

    • Hi Ola,
could you please use this contact form and describe your problem? The person who is handling the form also is in contact with the Compatibility Team and theme authors:
      https://wpml.org/contact-us/

I think she would handle your issue faster than me. Here I’m answering the pre-sales questions. Thank you.

      • OK, now I know, this forum is a mess.
1.You answered my question a few days ago but when I returned your answer was deleted. When I ask why with a new thead, you write you missed my post; A very bad lie.
        2. Then you suggest via the link I should use Contact Form. A lot of links and the only suitable link I can see goes to Presale questions …………… and as you know, I’ve been there before. So, your link was wrong or something amiss here !!!

  8. Hi, I am interested to buy the plugin costing $195 , can you provide me some discount.

Also, Just to see some features can you please provide me sample/demo for all these different edition (based on prices).

    Thanks

  9. Hi there!

I have a licensing question. I am a website developer and bought WPML CMS for life so that i can show my clients on my own site what it could do for them. You state the license is valid for unlimited websites. Now i got confused. What if i develop a website for a client which is going to be maintained by me afterwards? It is not clear for how many end products do you mean unlimited websites. And actually does unlimited websites mean no domain limitation?

    Regards

    • Hi Peter, yes, you can use one WPML license for all your sites. You don’t have to have access to your WPML account to maintain it if you register it. The updates will be available from your customer’s site. So in your case you need your WPML account for support only. If the other developer doesn’t need support help, we are all set. If he needs the support help however, he/she will have to purchase WPML on his/her behalf.

  10. Hi Agnes,

My email should be the same as my paypal account’s. I don’t know what email I should correct and confirm.

I really need to download it for my client.

    Thanks.

    Eric

  11. Hi
We are re-developing a website that uses mq-translate which is now deprecated. I noted you have an importer for q-translate. Does this also work with mq-translate ?

  12. Dear wpml team.
I want to buy your widget for our site(www.elionis.com).
Which packet do you suggest us to buy?
Are there many updates of your product?
I am thinking to buy the Most popular. Will i have any problem after the expiration of my one year account?
We are planning to have many years our site.
So what do you suggest us?
    best regards,
    Elionis team.

    • Dear Elionis,

Which packet do you suggest us to buy?

The http://www.elionis.com seems to be big and definitely the Blog subscription won’t be enough. You also say:

We are planning to have many years our site.

You can buy the CMS subscription and after the first year upgrade to Lifetime by paying the difference only (it will be possible 30 days before you current license expires) or you can buy the Lifetime subscription.

Are there many updates of your product?

We release a new update every 1-2 months and always if the WordPress core upgrades.

Will i have any problem after the expiration of my one year account?

Your plugin will still work but you lose access to future releases and our support help. Please note that after the first year you can upgrade to Lifetime and pay the difference only.

  13. I am using the Sunday theme with godaddy for wp. I would like to purchase WPML, but when I go to search in add plugin, it does not come up—only every other add-on. Can you please help?

    Thanks,

    MikeC

  14. I am planning a WordPress Website with a Store (selling T-Shirts) linked with a POD company and with a forum. If I use WPML, can all of the site be bilingual? The POD company is English only; how do I arrange the checkout and purchase of T-shirts to be bilingual? With WPML, can I arrange it so the posts in the forum can be either language (French or English) or both (if the poster wants to translate his post). Thank you.

    • Hi David,
you can set up a bilingual store with WPML. For this you will nee to buy the CMS or the Lifetime subscription and also use this free plugin https://pl.wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-multilingual/ (we are the authors).

Here you will find all the details:
      https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/

how do I arrange the checkout and purchase of T-shirts to be bilingual?

After installing the required plugins it should work without any extra setup from your side. The WooCommerce plugin includes special files with French translations of the checkout so if you switch to the French version, you should see the message in French. But of course you will have to translate the products.

About the multilingual forum. Sorry I don’t have good news for you. Currently there is no plugin fully compatible with WPML. Some users use the bbPress plugin but there are some issues with this one.

    • Hi,
no, they will be created for you by WPML during the initial setup. The subdirectories will be “virtual” which means that you will have URL like these:
      mysite.com/gr
      mysite.com/de etc
but these won’t be physical directories in your server.

  15. Hi,

i want to buy the plugin but i need the invoice with information about our company is it possible?

    [edited]

    Is it possible? Thanks

    • No entiendo muy bien la pregunta, aunque si te puedo decir que con el paquete CMS puedes traducir todos los elementos de tu web.

  16. Hi,

I am looking to translate my entire french website to english using your plugin. Here are my questions:

1- I am using WordPress theme http://theme.co/x/ . Is it compatible? Cornerstone is something they recently created and it seems that many users in the support forum is having problem with your plugin. What can you say about that?
2-The entire translated text is ready to upload or import, and we only need to work with our site for now( translated posts and progressively update the static content) . (not for clients..etc) Which version you recommend?
3- Do you offer support once the license is purchased? We have 0 knowledge on the issue and would really appreciate some help ( whether know-how videos..etc)

    3-

    • Hi Frank, yes the X theme is WPML compatible. It was tested by our team:
      https://wpml.org/theme/x/

If you encounter any issues please report them in our support forum and our compatibility team will contact the authors again.

      2. You will need the CMS or Lifetime version. Only these two allow you to translate all the elements of the site. The Blog subscription is recommended for very simple blogs only and the sites built with the X theme are more complex and will required the String translation module which is not included in the Blog version. Please note that you can buy the CMS and after the first year you can upgrade to Lifetime and pay the difference only. This will be possible within 30 days before your current subscription expires.

      3. Yes, support is included. You can ask all sorts of technical questions in our support forum. You can also use one WPML license for all your sites (you build for you or for your customers)

  17. Can I have a bilingual blog with WPML? Also, I don’t want to set up a bilingual store with Woocommerce. I want to set up a bilingual store with Spreadshirt which is a POD (Publish On Demand) company that allows you to sell t-shirts and they handle customer service and shipping (They actually have the T-shirts and ship them, based on orders from my website). Can I make my SpreadShirt webstore bilingual with WPML?

    • Hi again. Yes, you can have a bilingual blog with WPML. For this the Blog subsription should be enough. If it turns out that is not, you can always upgrade to the CMS by paying the difference only.

We don’t have any experience with making WPML multilingual with Spreadshirt. What I would suggest you. How about buying the Blog subscription. It will let you see how the WPML works. You will be also able to ask technical questions in our support forum. If however it turns out that you are not completely satisfy with WPML, please use our refund policy:

      https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

  18. Howdy,

We need to support multiple currencies on our WooCommerce integrated site and I see you offer this feature.

We haven’t used WPML in the past; WPML integrates with WooCommerce, correct? As opposed to being an alternative to WooCommerce.

    Thanks!

    Michael
