  3. Hello,

I have a question regarding the purchase of WPML.
Is it possible to get a proforma invoice before purchasing WPML? Without it, the bank that my company works with can’t release the funds needed for the purchase.

    • Hola, Lo siento por mi pobre español. Tenemos la sección de pre-venta también en español:
      https://wpml.org/es/purchase/preguntas-antes-de-adquirir-el-producto/
si desea obtener una anwer de un hablante nativo de español, por favor envíe su pregunta allí.

Permítanme responder a su pregunta. Puede comenzar con la versión bloge y si resulta que no es suficiente, se puede upgrate a la versión de CMS y tendrá que pagar el diffrence solamente. Esto se hace desde su UENTA WPML.

  4. Hello!
I purchase the $79 CMS version, but will like to upgrade to the Lifetime one of $195. I read on your webpage that I just need to pay the difference. What do I need to do? Thanks!

    • Hello,
just log into your WPML and find a link to upgrade. The system will detect your current subscription and you will be able to upgrade to the Lifetime version at a reduced price.

  5. Hi,

I am building a hebrew+english website for a tour company. There is a woocommerce plugin built in in the template I’m using. However, my clients do not want have the option of buying tours through the website, so do I still need to install woocommerce multilingual? Or there is no need?
Also, there are many texts, like tour descriptions etc. that needs to be translated to eng. Is it something the wpml plugin does or should be done by the tour company manually?

    Thank you!

    • Hi,
many themes support WooCommerce but using it is optional. The same applies to using WPML for translating your products. This is also optional. So, if you don’t plan to have an online store, it’s ok. You can still use WPML.

WPML plugin doesn’t translate your contents automatically. All the strings that need translation, should be translated by you (or you can use one of the professional translation services WPML works with, but these are paid extra:
      https://wpml.org/documentation/content-translation/

  6. For Multilingual CMS Lifetime, website: unlimited, is it mean that i can use this plugin on multiple site without getting any more charges?

    • That’s right. You buy only one WPML subscription and you can use WPML on all your sites (you build for you or for your customers).

  7. Hello,

Can we choose a different default language for a specific page ?

For instance if I have “French” as the default language, BUT some pages should not be available/translated in French.

How can I do that with WPML ?

    Thanks.

    • Hi Luca,
WPML allows that. You can leave some pages/posts without translation. In WPML setting you will find a section to check what should happen in that cases:

How to handle languages without translation

Some pages or posts may not be translated to all languages. Select how the language selector should behave in case translation is missing.
      – Skip language
      – Link to home of language for missing translations

  8. Hello, I buy a premium theme from themeforest glory multipurpose woocommerce Theme it includes only cms plugin but i need also WPML String Translation and WooCommerce Multilingual plugin also .how can i get this? another thing is can i get support/help to use this from you ?

  9. Hi. We are using Gravity Forms. Can you confirm is there a cost to this: GravityForms Multilingual 1.3.3 . We noticed the download page was password protected. I’m assuming you need a valid WPML license in order to access it. Just trying to determine costs.

    Thanks
    James

    • Yes, the Gravity Forms Multilingual plugin requires the WPML core plugin to work and is available in the WPML package:

      1. “Multilingual CMS ($79)”
      or
      2. “Multilingual CMS Lifetime ($199)”

    • Hello Partha, no, it’s not. WPML is recommended only if you want to fully translate your products (including currencies) but not for cases when you only need to display difference prices.

    • Yes, you can. You will be able to do this 30 days before your current subscription expires. And you will pay the difference only.

  10. Hello-
I’m was recently asked to administer a website and was asked to fix an incorrect translation that appears from english to french. (‘Canadian friends of peace’ appears as ‘canadiens amis de paix’. It should be Amis Canadiens de paix…”- so it’s actually a problem wit the sentence structure)

My question is how do I access support for this? I don’t have the login details for the WPML support as this was not handed over by the original web developer who is now out of the picture. Can I buy individual support or is there a way of accessing the support page to address this question?

    thanks,
    Roberto

    • Hi Robert, you should be able to correct this sentence when you have access to your WordPress site’s back-end. You don’t need the access to your WPML account to correct this sentence.

        • Yes, you should be able to edit it manually in a page/post or in one of WPML edit screens accessible from your WP admin.

          • Thanks again-
I went into a page and edited it manually on one page but the name ‘Canadiens amis de paix’ appears throughout the site and it seems like a lot of work to go in manually and change them all. Is there a way to get the WPML plugin to change all instances of the sentence:
            ‘Canadiens amis de paix’
            to
            ‘Amis Canadiens de paix’
            ?

Happy to buy support if this is a question that needs to be addressed more in depth.
            best,
            Roberto

            • Hi Roberto,
yes, our supporters could help you identify the source of this text. You need to have an active WPML subscription to use our support forum.

The good news is that once you buy WPML you can use it for all your customers sites, so it’s worth investing.

In your case you will need the “Multilingual CMS” version.

  11. Hi. Can you please inform me if all stripe payment procedure (https://stripe.com) implemented to my website can be translated to different languages using wpml plugin? Like their pop ups, forms and everything?
I need to know this 100% as otherwise the hole website will be useless for me…

    • Hi Vladimir,
it doesn’t look like a WordPress theme for me so I doubt you will be able to translate the strings using WPML.

If all the strings you want to translate have been coded using the gettext functions, you should be able to translte (either by using WPML or a gettext editor such as the Poedit)

    • Yes, Traditional Chinese is also supported by WPML. Please note that WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically.

      • You mentioned that WPML will not translate our site automatically, but we can send content for others to translate. I am a bit confuse here, who is the other, your staff team? Do we have to pay for translation? FYR, I am interest on WPML CMS version, thanks! 🙂

  12. I’m working on a site for a customer of mine. After finishing a custom theme with some complex logic behind it they told me that multilingual support is also needed. Is there a way to get trial or a Demo page where i can install my custom theme to test WPML?

  13. Hi Guys,
I have some question before buying WPML
    1. How does this refund policy of Yours works? I’ve purchased the theme, and the author told me that although he was describing the theme as compatible with WPML, however the last update of the theme was in december 2015. So I’d like to test firstly if everything works with the WPML-Theme integration.
    2. Second one, I’m not sure which purchase option is the best form me. I just need to translate all frontend – pages, posts, menu items etc. But I think I will also have to translate widgets. I’m sure I won’t need to translate CMS for managing users for translation purpose.
    THanks!

    • Hi Konrad,
      1. You will have 30 days to test WPML after purchasing it. If it turns out that for any reasons you are not completely satisfied, just use this link https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/ and request a refund. We will refund 100% of your payment – no questions asked.

Please note that you can use WPML for all your sites you build for your customers, so even if there are some issues with one theme, you can still use it for other sites built with different themes.

      2. To translate widgets you will need the “WPML CMS” subscription. It includes the “WPML String Translation” that is useful when you deal with widget translations. Another option is to use this plugin:
      Widget Logic see:http://wpml.org/2011/03/howto-display-different-widgets-per-language/

The “WPML String Translation” module is also required to translate some string coming from your theme.

Unless your site is a simple WordPress blog, you need the “WPML CMS” package. You upgrade to the “Lifetime” later and you will pay the difference only.

    • Hi Michele, I’m sorry but we don’t have any trials except of our refund policy that works similar:
      https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

If you are not sure which WPML package to start with, please start with the Blog version and if turns out that you need other extensions that are included in the “WPMl CMS” subscription, you can easily upgrade by paying the difference only. This is done from your WPML account.

  14. I have a question about the widgets. How does WPML handles them? Example: I have a recent comments widget. There are comments for the english and spanish version. Does the plugin “pulls” the comments from either of the two versions to match the selected country?

Similar question goes for the tag cloud?

    Thanks.

    • You can use WPML on all your websites. You need only one subscription. Please get started with the “WPML CMS” and if you like WPML, you can upgrade to the Lifetime version later by paying the difference only. It will be possible from your WPML account after 11 months.

  15. Hello. Which version do I need to buy to work with the SeedProd Welcome Page Plugin? Do I need to purchase the Multilingual CMS, or would it work with the less expensive Multilingual Blog version?

I live in Taiwan and have an audience of Chinese (Traditional) speakers and English speakers. I have already created my welcome page in English, but I would like to know if there is a way to do one in Chinese as well (using my own manual translation, not an automated one like Google Translate). Ideally, I’d like there to be a language option when the user first arrives at the welcome page.

    • Hi Kyle,
      do you mean this plugin:
      https://www.seedprod.com/features/

If so, it is compatible with WPML and was tested by our Compatibility Team:
      https://wpml.org/plugin/coming-soon-pro/

You will need the “WPML CMS” or “WPML Lifetime” version.

WPML supports Chinese (including traditional Chinese).

In theory you can insert the language switcher anywhere you want but in some cases you need to edit the PHP files of your theme/plugin. I cannot tell you now if you will be able to add the language switcher to your welcome page without editing your PHP files.

      • Hello again,

I talked to SeedProd and they said that in the Advanced Settings of Coming Soon Pro, you can select to turn on the “Display Language Switcher (The setting requires the WPML plugin and will turn on and off the language switcher.)”

Would that mean that the PHP files would not need to be edited?
