  2. Hello. I have two questions before purchase.

    1. My hosting has a lot of sites with WP and WPML, but the PHP version is 5.4 and MySQL version is 5.0.10. If I install the lastet version WPML. It works fine?

    2. If I buy a Multilingual Blog, after can I update to Multilingual CMS if I need?

    Thanks.

      • Thanks for your fast reply.

I do not understand is how this hosting provider that hosts many websites made with wordpress and assure me that many use WPML smoothly.
They tell me they will soon upgrade PHP 5.6, but MySQL does not comment anything.
As you might run WPML this Hosting with MySQL 5.0.10?

I can make the purchase WPML plugin and if it does not file a return?

        Thanks again.

    • Sorry to insist, but the situation in which I find myself, needs to be resolved with WPML or an alternative.

On my hosting I tell me that the versions of PHP 5.4 and MySQL 5.0.10 will be updated in the future, but do not assure me when.

I need to install WPML, so (knowing that there are websites running on my hosting using the plugin) My idea is to buy the plugin and try to install it.
If the plugin works largely serve me until they update the hosting.

      But the question is:
If when buying the plugin in its current version does not work at all on my server. Do I get my money by this issue?
Is it advisable to first try “multilingual blog” and if it works changed to “Multilingual CMS?
      Thank you.

  3. Hello,

I am setting upp an icelandic website. The WordPress system is mainly translated. However I have installed a theme, that has untranslated plugins.

Does your product solve that problem?
Will I be able to translate the extra stuff from the theme and or other plugins with your plugin?

    Best regards
    SV.

  4. Hi,

I have some questions before ordering:

We have WooCommerce on a single language site currently and we want to make it compatible with Google shopping adverts worldwide, including translations and different currencies.

    – with WooCommerce WPML is it possible for us to have two or more versions of the site which have the same language, but a different slug and different currency? We would ideally like site.com as UK, site.com/us as USA, site.com/ca as Canada etc etc. all with the same language but with different currencies. Is this possible to do?

    – is there a way to have languages on sub domains instead of sub folders?

    – we ideally need landing pages and product feeds for Google for each language, can this be done easily in WPML?

    – can your system geolocate to the correct currency/language?

    – can your system automatically remove or add the tax in WooCommerce based on location of customer?

    Thanks,
    Aaron

    • Hi Aaron,
if your site is going to be multilingual, WPML is the right solution to go. If however, you are considering using WPML only for providing your products in different currencies, I would suggest to find a dedicated plugin for this specific purpose.

Yes, you use subdomain instead of folders.

Yes, once you translate your original landing page (by “Original” I mean the page in your primary language) to other languages and once you translate your products to other languages, this can be done in WPML.

Yes, this is relatively easy – translating post/pages/products with WPML is like creating the same post but in a new language.

No, no support for geolocation. But there is an option for detecting the user’s language based on the settings in her browser.

removing/adding the tax automatically – sorry, no such thing.

  5. Hi,
My site is multilingual and currently using Polylang. My problem is, while a few general pages are translated into French, the bulk of the site is composed of custom posts from the LearnDash LMS plugin (courses, lessons, topics etc). These custom posts have English content that does not need to, and will not, be translated. The touble is, when a user switches to French using Polylang’s language switcher, they can’t see any of the courses, lessons and topics since these pages are not translated. Even if the user accesses a course or lesson page directly by entering its URL, the switcher will automatically switch the site language (and menus) back to English. In short, there is no way to display untranslated pages and posts when any language other than the default is chosen.
Would your “not translatable content” feature solve this problem ?
Is it available in the Multilingual Blog version ?
    Thanks,
    Yanis

    • Hey Yanis,
yes, WPML allows you to translate your custom posts as well. You will need the “Multilingual CMS” version. After the first year you will be able to upgrade to the Lifetime by paying the difference only.

    • That wasn’t my question, precisely the opposite. We DON’T want to translate the custom posts (courses, lessons, topics), just show them as-is no matter which language is currently selected.

Also, not interested in Lifetime, only Blog.

      • For each post, page and custom post WPML provides two options:
        – translate
        – duplicate.

The latter means that a visitor will see the original post/page after switching the language. You can use that feature if this is ok for you.

    • Hi, I wonder if anyone can answer this question, I need an answer before I can buy : using WPML Multilingual Blog, is it or not possible to show untranslated (English language) custom posts even though the user has switched to a different language (e.g. FR or ES) in the website ?

      • Hey Yanis, I have just answered your question. You could use the “duplicate” option provided by WPML to handle such cases.

  6. Good Morning,
I ‘m thinking of buying the WPML but before I want to know if you have Catalan translator .
It is very important to me to have Catalan or it very easy to install later.
I would also like to know if it is compatible with the wordpress theme of my website .
    Thank you!

  7. Hello:

We would be using WPML with WC vendors plugin and Buddy Boss Marketplace theme. buddypress would also be used in conjunction for forum and blogging purposes.

Is WPML compliant with WC Vendors and Buddy Boss Marketplace theme?

    Best Regards
    Peeyoosh Kumar

  8. hi there,

can you please send us your “Software License Agreement” we want to make sure before purchasing your plugin ?

looking forward to hear form you

    Thank you

  9. this wpml can compatible with http://peepso.com ?
peepso is wordpress social network plugin.

if can’t …. can i make this peepso to be use with wpml

i mean that order to developer of wordpress

    • This plugin isn’t listed on our compatibility list:
      ttps://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/

which means it wasn’t tested with WPML by our Compatibility team. So I cannot predict how these two will cooperate with each other. You can buy WPML and test it yourself. If they don’t work as expected, please use our refund policy:
      https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

  10. i have question.

1)this WPML plugin can be used to http://peepso.com(this is wordpress social network plugin similar to facebook)?

2)WPML can be used to theme ” listable ” ?

  11. Hello,
I got WPML installed on my website a year ago so I could add a French translated version of my website.
The website is now in English and French.
Posts of this website are divided in 3 categories (and depending on the category some posts show up in different pages).
I would like posts to stay all in original language, and I would like to make them visible also in the French version.
    Problem is :
    – if I duplicate posts in French, comments do not show up in French version
    – if I go wpml -> languages, Scroll down to “Blog posts to display” section, and I Enable “All posts” option, it still does not solve the issue because in the section where a specific category of posts should show up it shows me that I can select only categories that are translated in french…
I am sorry I am posting this here but I cannot log in on your forum. If you can please reply by email and let me know what should I do it would be great. Thanks in advance

  12. Hi,
I am a web developer. I want to know basic different between multilingual CMS and multilingual life time CMS.

If i buy multilingual CMS now, can i use this plugin in next year for my other client. Though if i don’t renew my licence . I like to use this plugin for my other clients without renew licence!

    Thanks

    • Hi,
you buy one WPML subscription and you can use it for all your customers (doesn’t matter which type of license you purchase: Blog, CMS, Lifetime).

Renewing is not obligatory. If you don’t renew your “MUltilingual CMS” after the first year you will be able to use the WPML plugins you installed on your customers’ sites but you will lose access to our support help and future releases. After the first year you will also have the possibility to upgrade to the Lifetime version by paying the difference only.

  13. hi
i’d like to inquire if your plug-in fully supports right to left languages such as Arabic.
If so, can i get more info and a couple of reference sites? and also any video tutorials for setting i tup to see how complex/simple it is before i purchase
    thx
    joe

    • WPML has full support for RTL languages. This includes both the WordPress admin, localization to Arabic and RTL content editing.

Our own site runs in Arabic too, including support in Arabic:
      https://wpml.org/ar/

      Does this help?

  14. Hello There.

I am about to launch a Russian Version of my site. The question I have is posts we make in Russian we do not wish to appear in English language area (as they are tailored for Russian viewers). I also do not want the Russian posts to appear in the news feeds or other social media plugins we rely on in English Language.

Please can you advise if this is possible, and direct me to the best purchase option for me, so I can complete this also.

    Thanks!!

    • What you are describing is the normal way WPML works. It will show only content in the current language and not mix languages. Your Russian pages will have Russian navigation, Russian content and Russian in texts that come from the theme. You will have a separate feed for each language, which contains only posts in that language. You can add that feed to the social media channel that you create for each language. We do the same for our site.

For example, here is the Russian RSS feed for wpml.org:
      https://wpml.org/ru/feed/

You can see that it only includes items in Russian. You can compare it with the feeds of other languages in our site.

      Does this help?

  15. Hi,

Sorry I have to ask this question. It’s just that I couldn’t find it anywhere. I would like to ask how many available languages are there that I can translate with this plugin please? is there a complete list of available languages somewhere for me to take a look at?

I need to translate my website to at least the following languages: Chinese (simplify and traditional), Vietnamese and Tibetan.

    Thanks.
    Grace

    • You can use any language with WPML. It comes pre-configured with around 40 languages, including Chinese and Vietnamese. You can add Tibetan yourself via WPML->Languages->Add languages.

Please note that WPML does not translate your content. It allows you to translate or send your content to translators.

      Does this help?

    • Hi Amir,

Thanks very much for getting back to my query.

When adding and new language, does the plugin automatically create necessary files e.g .mo .po files to the appropriate directories? All I have to do is go to the pages I want to translate and translate, is that right?

Can you please elaborate a bit more on sending content to the translator? What is the process, fees and costs, response turn around time and any other conditions?

      Thank you.

      • WPML doesn’t need .mo files. It saves translations for strings in the database. WPML will read the .mo files created by themes and plugins, so that if there’s any translation, it’s used. However, to continue translating, you don’t need any new language files. All you need is to translate from inside WPML.

If you have your own translators, you don’t need to pay us to use them. With WPML, you can export XLIFF files and send to your translators (this is the file format that most translators prefer).

In case you need help with the actual content translation, WPML works with a number of translation services. You can see the current list here:
        https://wpml.org/documentation/content-translation/#partner-translation-services/

We are compiling a comparison table of cost and other features. This table will be ready very soon. Out of memory, prices for different translation services start at about 0.07 USD / word and go higher. This depends on language pairs, subject, speed and other things.

  16. Greetings ,

Iam interested to buy your plugin but i have couple of questions . First , WPML translation plugin its gonna be supported from my Templates that i bought from themeforest, or they should required certain things to be supported from your plugin ? The second question is , lets say i bought your plugin and i trasnlate 2-3 websites, if my subscription is end my translation websites that are using WPML plugin will no longer support translation on that certain websites? Or the websites i translated with WPML will continue provide translation even if my subscription is over .

    • 1. We’ve tested WPML with hundreds of themes coming from Themeforest. You can search in our themes list and see if your theme appears:
      https://wpml.org/theme/

If a theme does not appear there, it doesn’t mean that it will not work with WPML. It means that we didn’t test it. If you don’t see your list these, you can suggest to the theme developer to apply to our Go Global program, so that we can test it together:
      https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/

      2. A valid subscription is required to get updates for WPML and ask questions in our support. If your subscription expires, your sites will continue to work as before, but you will not be able to download updates or get support. Please consider that if you don’t update a plugin for very long, eventually you will run into compatibility problems with new WordPress versions.

  17. I need to be able to create language-specific content from my own Plugin. EG, my plugin receives a message from an external source, creates (via its own translation engine) an English, Spanish, and French version of the message, and places this content into WordPress (as a Page or Pages). WPML then renders the correct version of the Page to the visitor.

Is this possible? I could not figure out which API hooks I could use to create language-specific versions of the page content.

    • WPML saves translations in as normal ‘posts’ and then connects these posts together as ‘translations’. So, your plugin only needs to create posts with the translation.

This page explains how WPML saves the languages information:
      https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-tables/

Please note that this construct is necessary, not only to tell what language items have, but also how they connect to translations and what was the actual order of translations.

If you can create the posts and add the language information to them, it will appear as if you’ve translated from inside of WordPress.

      Does this help?

    • This looks like a question for our Theme Compatibility team. I’ve referred the question to them and you’ll get an update very soon.

  18. hi

i purchases http://angle.oxygenna.com theme and asked if they support arabic. they stated their them does not support right-to-left. if i purchase your plugin will my site with arabic ? i need a separate site for arabic and keep the english version so users can choose.

if your plugin won;t work with the theme, do you have any suggestions for me?

    thanks for your advice

    joe

    • The theme needs to be translation-ready. In your case, you also need it to be RTL ready. This is something that WPML cannot resolve, because each theme has its own set of CSS (sometimes very complex) and only the theme author knows how to create the version for RTL.

We have a few articles on how to create RTL versions for themes. The most up-to-date is here:
      https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/build-rtl-wordpress-themes/

You can suggest the author of your theme to read this. If you’re comfortable with CSS, you can add this too, but your edits may be lost on theme updates.

      • I believe it covers this perfectly…I just need to take a look at the Social Media Integration tools I have in WP, as it seems they feed out whenever a new post is made.

Thanks for your guidance I will proceed and purchase today.

    • Hello,
If you don’t have a credit card, you can use PayPal.

      We support two payment methods:
      1. Credit Card with 2Checkout secure card processing.
      2. PayPal

If you are reluctant about using traditional credit cards when paying online, please consider creating a prepaid virtual card in your bank, just a suggestion.

  19. Hello,

I am about to begin a project which involves me having to build a WP site in 3 languages.

    1. Catalan
    2. Spanish
    3. English

I am using a premium theme for this build which says it supports WPML integration (Dante from Swiftideas).

My question is that do you offer any means of trying the product before purchase? I would like to see how it integrates with this theme.

    I’d appreciate your feedback,

    Regards,
    Jack

  20. I’m migrating a html website that uses this structure for languages.

    http://www.website.com/portfolio/category/postname/EN
    http://www.website.com/portfolio/category/postname/PT

    http://www.website.com/page01/EN
    http://www.website.com/page01/PT

Its possible to achieve that with WPML?
3 years ago when i used in one project I’ve remember that we had ?lang=EN at the end, or /en at the beginning.

Is there such option now, or any to achieve this permalink structue at the end of URL?

  21. i bought this wpml and theme listable
    http://themeforest.net/item/listable-a-friendly-directory-wordpress-theme/13398377

i can use wpml on pages(admin dash board)
but i can not use wpml on listings(admin dash board)

i sent email(support ticket) to listable theme support team
“i can use wpml on pages” but
“why i cannot use wpml on listings”
    they said like this

    Hey !

ould you tell me if you have installed the WPML Translation management add-on yet? Because once you do, if you go to WPML -> Translation Management-> access theMultilingual Content setup tab and make sure that Listing Categories are set to translate under Custom Taxonomies, they should be translatable right away:
    Inline image 1

how can i do~? please give me some advice thank u
