HI, I just need to know weather if i have published a post using danish language post it sholud be only visible to danish language user . same for other languages too . weather is it possible in WPML?
Hi,
you mean in your WordPress back-end? Not possible, all users will have access to all languages but they will see a language switcher as well allowing them to display posts in a given language only.
Hello yes thanks for your quick reply.
Currently i am planning to build a cms web and mob based social community with help of this theme in wordpress : http://www.buddyboss.com/product/boss-theme/
Here is my requirement for wpml ,
All the user in this site is going to be create by admin user’s , When the user was create they should be assigned with their language they belong to.
So this site is going to be like a social share community, So i want to know weather user based language option in frontend is available in wpml or not.
So that only danish people will able to see the share and message only to danish people ,
It was like user based language option system
The Multilingual Blog version lets you translate simple sites, without the String Translation module. You will be able to translate pages, posts and custom types. You can get it and see. If your theme needs to translate many strings, you can always upgrade to the full Multilingual CMS version and pay only the difference.
Hi,
we want to do the upgrade to a Lifetime account ($116) but when we insert the VAT number, your system add automatically the 22% VAT at the subtotal amount.
This is not correct because we are registered to the VIES system and we don’t have to pay VAT to foreign suppliers.
Last year we bought the CMS Multilingual for 79$ without any tax.
Our system calls the VAT verification service to check for these numbers. It’s usually working normally. Can you try again in a few minutes or use a different browser? There may also be a caching issue causing the VAT validation to fail. Let me know if it continues and we’ll check the VAT number for you.
We’ve had a license with you but it expired a while back. (Netsurvey.se) But since our webmaster quit i don’t have access to the account.
The easiest for us would just be to purchase a new license – but i need to be sure that we can access the things we’re using WPML for on our site today, so we don’t lose alot of work and info. How would you suggest we do?
Hi Hanna,
you won’t lose anything you created with WPML previously if you purchase a completely new subscription. Please go ahead and purchase a new license.
Hi,
We are about to setup a Sensei LMS website + WooCommerce + WooMembership + WooSubscription in several languages. We would like to know if WPML is fully compatible with all of this theme plugins?
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Samuel
There is one (important) thing that WPML couldn’t do for Sensei and it gets resolved now. Sensei sends emails to members. Members would expect to receive these emails in their language. We are adding the support for this to WPML 3.4, which will be out this week (probably tomorrow). We have a patch for Sensei to support this. It’s available in a development version of Sensei, but not yet in Sensei production version. If you want, we can arrange that dev version of Sensei for you. It’s ready on WPML’s side.
I want to buy the version with 79 USD.
If i see there it’s all posibility included.
If i buy this version for woocommerce, the tranlation will be make automat ? and i can have the oportunity to change some words ?
all the pages will be translated automat and i will have the oportunity to make some corections ?
WPML will let you translate WooCommerce sites, but it doesn’t translate automatically for you. You can edit any text and translate to any language. With WPML, you can translate yourself or send content to translators.
Hi ALin,
usually the “Buy now” and the strings you can see on the cart page come from the WooCommerce plugin and they can be translated using WPML or using relevant “po” files that come with your plugin. Anyway, all of them can be translated in one way or another.
Hi, I’am about to buy wpml. I have a simple question. Can I put the country flags wherever I like? Or is it only possible to put them at the bottom of the website? I like to put them in the header.
WPML settings allow you to add the language switcher to your sidebar, menu or to the footer. If you know how to edit your theme files you can add the language switcher anywhere (we provide a ready to use code snippet).
I’ve purchased the $29 plugin but there’s not an option for Afrikaans, it’s a language in South Africa. We don’t need the Admin area to be translated just navigation, content and urls.
Would we be able to use this plugin as our reason for choosing it is that it works well with acf?
Hi,
I need a multi language solution for a client. They want their website content shown in both english and spanish.
They aren’t happy with automatic translations, so they will be writing both versions of the content themselves.
Is this something your plugin can handle?
Hi Mario, we don’t have a demo account but we have a refunds policy that lets you test WPML for 30 days with money-back guarantee: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
Hi I am about to upgrade to a Lifetime account. But first I have a question.
I develop webshops with WordPress WooCommerce for several clients.
So I am thinking about upgrading to a Multilingual CMS Lifetime account $166.00 (Pay once, get everything).
But I see for a completely translated WooCommerce webshop I need:
– WPML Multilingual CMS
+
– WPML String Translation
– WPML Translation Management
– WPML Media Translation
– WooCommerce Multilingual plugin (free)
Are all of those items in the Multilingual CMS Lifetime pakkage for $166.00? I can only see the Multilingual CMS? Do I need to buy al of the other ones separately? I wish to buy them all, for lifetime and for installing them on unlimited websites with automatic updates. Can you help me can a good overview for witch package i need and what the total cost will be?
So if I upgrade now to a Multilingual CMS Lifetime account for $166.00, I will get:
– WPML Multilingual CMS
– WPML String Translation
– WPML Translation Management
– WPML Media Translation
– WooCommerce Multilingual plugin
All of them for lifetime use, free updates & on unlimited sites?
Is WPML compatible with WordPress 4.5.2.?
Cause we are using WPML and we are having some troubles with Menu.
1- The top menu is in Latvian and when we switch to English all content switches but the top menu stays the same (Latvian). Tried to solve this problem but with no success.
What’s the issue here? I can send you some screenshots if it helps.
WPML works with the Revolution Slider but you need at least the “Multilingual CMS” version. It includes the String translation module you will need to translate your slides.
Will this also work with Revolution Slider – I have a client that wants his site to be in Russian as well as English and is providing all the copy. All I have to do is paste that in appropriately?
WPML works with the Revolution Slider but there are some issues. Yes, to translate posts and pages you need to make a copy of your post/page in another language (using WPML) and insert the translations.
Planning to purchase the multi-language. I worked with a site a few years ago that has wpml – but have a question. I will have a site in english, and the second language will be Japanese, sometimes bloggers will be in Japanese, does wpml translate the backend of site? So that say a “contributor” will see the backend in Japanese if they want? or is there a plugin for that?
After the first year your subscription expires (doesn’t apply to the Lifetime version which never expires). You will lose access to our support help and future releases but the plugins you have download and installed will continue working.
After the first year you can pay for another year (the price is lower then) or upgrade to Lifetime by paying the difference. This is optional as well.
Hello
I have bought the plugin 2 years ago and have now updated my website to a new theme. (Enfold Child)
My username at WPML is: You are logged in as peterM-8.
We have tried to get the plugin running on the new theme but it doesn’t work.
As my suscribtion has expired there would be the option to update to a lifetime account. But before I do that I would like to know if the WPML is compatible with the theme my website is using
Hello
I have upgraded and we tried to get the plugin running. Nevertheless my programmer who is very professional and who has already experience with the plugin didn’t manage to get it running.
Precicely it was impossible to use the upgrade to multi language CMS lifetime –
With the linke below you get to a word-doc that shows the eror we had permanently.
Totally we have wasted 2 hours on the issue so far; Hope that you can help us – otherwise I would like to step back from the purchase.
From your screenshot, it appears that WPML is running fine on your site, but cannot register on wpml.org to receive automatic updates. If you want, you can skip the registration (the gray button at the bottom right of the box). The registration problem is happening because SSL (the secure communication protocol) is disabled on your web server.
To fix this, you should ask your hosting company to enable SSL. This is a one-line change in their setting. Disabling SSL means that your web server cannot use secure connection to anywhere. This is obviously not a good thing.
Anyway, if you are not happy with WPML, let us know and we will refund your order.
I referr to the suport you gave me before…
SSL is not included in my hosting and this would cost extra. I would like to step back from my purchase and want to ask you to refund my payment.
Is it possible to just add a layer with every language; not create a own page for every language?
E.g. if English is my default language and I create a French layer and just changing the text. If I change a picture on my English site; it will be changed also at the French site.
Hi Marie,
if you want to translate your page contents using WPML you need to create a separate page for it. WPML allows you to maintain one physical copy of your image and change only the captions and alt text.
Hello,
I am developer who builds websites on wordpress for clients. If I purchase the lifetime version of this plugin, am I allowed to distribute the plugin into my clients’ websites?
and we can test your theme for WPML compatibility so will get a sort of certificate saying that your theme is WPML compatible. But your customers will need to purchase their own subscriptions, you cannot distribute WPML along with the theme.
If you build sites for your customers, you can use one WPML subscription for all of the sites you build.

Hi Samuel,
WPML is compatible with the WooCommerce plugin and you can create multilingual stores.
You will read more about it here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/
Here’s the list of all WooCommerce extensions that have been tested by our team for WPML compatibility
https://wpml.org/documentation/woocommerce-extensions-compatibility/
The rest may work as well but we never tested them. You can test them yourself keeping our refund policy in mind:

Does Multilingual Blog version of WMPL supports the Revolution Slider translations? I am the owner of Inovado wordpress theme (http://themeforest.net/item/inovado-retina-responsive-multipurpose-theme/3810895) which contains a slider (and need to do the website in 3 languages).

Hi,
WordPress has been translated in diffrent languages and WPML lets you choose the language of the WP back-end independently for each user.

I am developer who builds websites on wordpress for clients. If I purchase the lifetime version of this plugin, am I allowed to distribute the plugin into my clients’ websites?
Thanks in advance for the reply.
Hi Karel,
if you are a theme author we can provide you a free subscription of WPML – please apply here:
https://wpml.org/purchase/theme-and-plugin-developers/
and we can test your theme for WPML compatibility so will get a sort of certificate saying that your theme is WPML compatible. But your customers will need to purchase their own subscriptions, you cannot distribute WPML along with the theme.
If you build sites for your customers, you can use one WPML subscription for all of the sites you build.
So, the answer for your question is “Yes”, with the Lifetime subscription you will be able to use WPML on all your customers’ sites.
